  1. I wasn't going to watch but as it gets closer I think I will continue the tradition of watching. If Pats go up big, just turn it off. I've watched all of them starting with IV.
  2. Yeah, I can understand the team looking at salary cap implications and it's not my money, but I think going after bonus money already paid to the player is tacky.
  3. Yeah, remember in their earlier days they had a mediocre wide receiver named Troy Brown, who always seemed to make big plays? He even volunteered one year to play DB when they had some injuries. Not a great talent but a team player that made contributions to thir success.
  4. Or letting players leave as free agents and then using their 1st round pick to replace them.
  5. While watching this Senior Bowl, I flashed back to the one in 2013 that EJ played in. It was somewhat a boring poorly played 21-16 game with EJ throwing a TD pass and scoring on a run to get game MVP. This game was way different with the QBs lighting it up. I wonder if it had something to do with the head coaches, with O'Brien as coach of the South team. Both head coaches of that 2013 game were defensive coaches (Schwartz and Dennis Allen). Now, despite the fact EJ was a Senior Bowl MVP, I value more how QBs played in this game with NFL coaches and NFL caliber defenders than how they look at the combine running around in shorts throwing to uncovered receivers. Given that, reports from the practices said that Josh Allen didn't look that good missing badly to uncovered receivers. He didn't look that good in the 1st half but played much better in the 2nd half so maybe he's a gamer. Mike White and Lauletta also looked good. Personally I feel a little better about this year's crop of QBs than I did before this game. Unfortunately we have to wait 3 more months for the draft.
  6. That's the risk teams take when they manipulate the salary cap by trying to push money into the future and get players to restructure by giving them more guaranteed money.
  7. I go back to the comments by Mike Florio that many of the scouts he talked to felt that this crop of QBs isn’t as good as last year’s. I wouldn’t overspend to move up. The Bills may have blown it by not picking Watson or Mahomes when they had the opportunity with the 10th pick of the last draft but it’s in the past and can’t be changed now. They’ll just have to try and make the best move they can to improve the QB position.
  8. History has shown for the Bills and other NFL teams that, unless you want to invest in a Fournette or Gurley, productive running backs can be found in the later rounds and even undrafted free agents (Fred Jackson).
  9. Yeah, they put together a good team in the early 80s under Chuck Knox but then wouldn’t pay to keep it together so Knox left.
  10. If you hate the Pats as much as I do, I wouldn’t want their fans there.
  11. Exactly. Peyton Manning, a Super Bowl winner and HOF QB, threw 28 INTs in his rookie season, leading his team to a 3-13 record. His second season he cut his INTs almost in half (15) and his team reversed their record to 13-3.
  12. People forget the context of the 5 INTs. One went thru the receivers hands. Was it thrown too hard? Maybe, but it could've been caught. Two were thrown with a pass rusher in his face affecting the trajectory. Should he have thrown them? Maybe not, but if he held the ball and took sacks then people would complain that he was taking sacks. Only 2 of the 5 INTs were blatant bad throws and on one the defender made a great play. I'm not a Peterman backer, just being a realist. Some of you guys are too quick to make negative judgements on players, like with Zay Jones. Many called the last second play vs Carolina a drop. That catch attempt had a high degree of difficulty. Could he have caught it? Yes, but I look at it more as a disconnection, not a drop. If you wanted to see drops, you should've watched Amari Cooper this year, who I believe led the NFL in official drops. He'd be 5 yards from the QB, standing still, throw placed chest high right to his hands and he'd drop it. I don't recall Zay having more than maybe a couple like that.
  13. Trying to get the Budweiser beer vendor to give him a break on prices for his bar?
  14. That’s what I’m thinking. Record it and follow score. If Pats win, just delete. Watch if Pats lose.
  15. I thought about that combo when watching them in their bowl game.
  16. Wait a minute! Maybe we need more discussions about how college football is fixed. Alabama surprisingly picked for the playoffs over Ohio St and then win the title. Are Alabama and Nick Saban becoming the New England and Belichick of college football? Some people love them, some hate them
  17. Yeah, and when is FOX going to get rid of the robots. I ‘m talking about the CGI robots, not the studio crew or the announcers.
  18. Yeah, I remember wife and I walking thru a mall and there was a Prodigy kiosk. We signed up right away. Not long before I was hooked. Sports updates were in text, like "Smith hits home run"
  19. Wouldn’t it be interesting if Jimmy G signed back with the Pats as a free agent?
  20. until
    6:30 PM EST, NBC
  21. until
    3:00 PM ET, ESPN
  22. I would expect soccer players get CTE. Taking a header off a hard pass is likely not good.
