  1. The owners make so much money but are cheap when it comes to their Super Bowl spectacle where they have the halftime acts pay them for the “privilege” of performing. They also ask for local volunteers to put up and take down the stage.
  2. 2018 NFL Cutdown Deadline. 4 PM ET. All NFL teams must cutdown rosters to 53 players.
  3. until
Regular Season opening game- Bills at Baltimore Ravens. 1 PM ET. CBS.
  4. until
4th Preseason Game- Bills at Chicago. 8 PM ET,. WKBW-TV
  5. I’ve heard too many stories about couples where only one takes care of the finances. Then that person dies and the other doesn’t have a clue what to do.
  6. I can't see them giving up on Zay so soon. This regime drafted him and they traded up to get him early in the 2nd round. If he was a Whaley/Rex pick he'd probably be gone.
  7. I would say Foster, Dupre, Phillips have little chance of making the team. In the numbers game, Reilly and K. Clay haven't shown enough and are probably out also. That leaves Coleman, McCloud and Prohl for the last spot and I'd definitely lean towards Coleman. Then try and sign the other two for the practice squad. And I agree with others that odds are there will be an injury to one of these receivers on Sunday.
  8. Based on what we've seen the last few years, I'd match your $5 and then quadruple it. It seems like Belechick gets bored and just wants to screw with the Bills and/or stroke his own ego by showing he can take another team's cast offs and make them productive. Didn't quite work, though, with Scott "Harder They Fall" Chandler.
  9. No confidence in Ryan Fitzpatrick vs the Saints? No respect!
  10. They should’ve had an injury-based incentive bonus
  11. I don’t know. I wasn’t at the Texans training camp nor did I watch their preseason games. I’m just saying O’Brien may have decided to give Watson a few games to watch. Savage’s poor play may have made Watson the starter quicker or it was close to the plan. Only those involved know.
  12. Why not? It’s done all the time, and just last season. Do you think anybody really thought Tom Savage gave the Texans a better chance to win than Watson? There would be benefits for Allen to sit and watch for a few meaningful games.
  13. Well the English rule is “ I before E except after C” so give him a break
  14. Do you really want to watch a few weeks of sloppy regular season games?
  15. His list has only 51 players. So, I would add an O-lineman that can play multiple positions, and keep Logan Thomas as a 4th TE.
  16. He makes me yearn for the days of Carl Mauck.
  17. That's the problem with part-time officials, although the NFL did take the first step by making some full-time employees. Pre-season games should be used as training tools. If they were all full time, they could gather during the week to review films of games in the prior week and have the head of officials tell them which were correct calls and which weren't. You still have the calls that are subjective though so it's hard to have a perfect system but taking the extra time for clarification would only help.
  18. until
Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills, New Era stadium. 4:00 PM. Televised live on FOX Network
  19. Likely Anderson since he was in Carolina. Where is Joe Webb?
  20. Players can be cut any time.
  21. I really get annoyed when they do these interviews during regular season and playoff games for all of the 4 major sports while the game action is going on.
  22. Haley in the 1st half of the episode had me thinking "Man, he's a no nonsense guy." By the end though, including that segment about the name Carl (What, is he 12?), I decided he's just an a$$&@! I remember watching that Browns/Giants game when Callaway broke the long one thinking why, if he's now considered first team, is he still in there late in the 3rd quarter? It was "punishment"? So, if he ended up getting hurt because he played the whole game, would they just say "Next man up!" and/or "Let's sign Dez"?
  23. I remember reading that GMs and coaches liked delaying the cuts til the end of preseason but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Sure they have longer to evaluate who's already on their roster but with the cuts on that Saturday, if they need players to fill slots, they have a week to identify players cut by other teams, get them signed and ready for the 1st game. It isn't likely to affect any team's starters but backups and special teams players. Maybe there just won't be much movement at that point, especially since most guys playing the 4th game aren't making the team anyways. It could mainly be the moves to fill practice squads.
