  1. Referencing the 1983 Draft, our Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly was the 3rd QB picked with the 14th pick. Also, another HOF QB named Marino was the 6th QB taken with the 27th pick. Again, it's a crapshoot.
  2. His comment regarding Mayfield: “size is a skill”. Huh? No dummy, size is a physical attribute. Skills can be developed. He likely is not going to grow anymore. He can’t do anything about it except maybe wear lifts in his shoes as somebody here had mentioned. Although I didn’t agree with some of what Simms said, it still tempers the enthusiasm of this draft class of QBs. I agree that the best pick of them may be Allen due to his size and arm strength. During an interview with Mayock at his pro day, Allen said he had been working with Jordan Palmer on his footwork and establishing his base and had already felt improvement. This is good as opposed to a prior big strong armed QB in Jamarcus Russell who in the first practice after he signed his contract told his teammates he could now retire.
  3. Let's go!!
  4. I was thinking I should start downloading them so I can look back after the draft. You know they'll all be deleted before the draft.
  5. I find some ‘pocket presents’ in my jeans when I check them before washing. A bit of trivia for a future Sports Jeopardy?
  6. Flutie had good games with the Bills but then opponents started to game plan to keep him contained in the pocket and he wasn't as effective.
  7. Yep, by then Bucky Brooks should have his Mock Draft 7.0
  8. I attended a few of Stanford ‘s games in Elway’s senior year. I’ll never forget one play against Washington. The pass rush forced Elway to roll out to the right just inside his 40 yard line. He threw a pass on a line to WR Ken Margerum, who was standing in the left half of the end zone and didn’t have to move. It was like playing catch with a friend a few yards away. I also worked with a guy who also was a WR for Stanford and he said by the end of the season his fingers were so messed up, he had to catch the ball with his palms.
  9. During the off-season he was a gym teacher at Kensington High. My sister was going there then.
  10. Yep, he's the cousin of an ex co-worker who grew up in the farming community of Firebaugh, California.
  11. I would be disappointed if a CB was taken at 22 with Evans still available. They should be able to get their QB for the offense and for the defense in a MLB.
  12. Yes, and they had to overemphasize Mayfield's lack of height by giving him a comparison of Flutie.
  13. Right, that's why they have their combine results displayed.
  14. NFL.com does a great job of providing rating grades and analysis of all of the draft prospects. The grades are on a scale of 10 and Darnold was given a grade of 7.0. To put that in perspective, their legend shows that a grade between 7.00 and 7.49 classifies a player as "Pro Bowl to All-Pro Ability". His NFL comparison is Andrew Luck. The grades for the other top QBs and their comparisons are as follows: Rosen- 6.1, comp- Trent Green Mayfield- 6.0, Doug Flutie J.Allen- 6.0, Locker L.Jackson- 5.9, M.Vick Grades between 6.0 and 6.49 are noted as "Chance to become good NFL starter". Comparing Darnold's grade of 7.0 to other position players, only 4 players (Barkley, Nelson, Chubb and Edmunds) were given a higher grade with Barkley the highest at 7.4 So, the NFL.com analysis supports the position that Darnold is probably the only QB that should be taken in the first few picks, and to me, the only one worth the Bills trading a king's ransom to move up for.
  15. I thought about it but could already hear members mumbling about more threads. Then I see these dumb threads being started like "Was signing Billy Joe Hobert a mistake?".

  17. But I just read the OJ interview and he said Ralph didn’t want the Bills to win because then he’d have to give everybody raises.
