Yes, with the number of first round OL that haven’t panned out in recent years, I think going for established veteran free agents is the better bet.

I like Aaron Rodgers, liked to watch Favre and started rooting for the Packers when Buffalo area native Don Majikowski when he was QB, except when they played the Bills. I moved to the Bay Area, so I rooted for the Raiders. Following the Bills since 1970, and with their limited number of playoff appearances, I had to root for someone in the playoffs.

Well, looking at it from the opposite view, UB's Naman Roosevelt played briefly for the Bills over 2 seasons after being promoted from the practice squad, but after he was cut in the final cutdown if 2012, didn't make another NFL roster. He went to the CFL and has had a solid career there, making the divisional All Star team in 2017. So, a bottom of an NFL roster player is a solid starter in the CFL. This of course does not take into account the improvements in his play while in the CFL.

After Bruce becomes the highest paid player by signing a multi year deal: "I'm very happy" After a half dozen other players sign for more than Bruce did: "I'm unhappy. I should get more." After Bills renegotiate Bruce's contract to again make him the highest paid player: "I'm happy" After 10 other players sign for more than Bruce did : "I'm unhappy. I want more" Rinse. Repeat.

I agree with most of what you said. However, regarding Woods, recent comments from him were that he wanted to go to a team with an above average QB/passing game. I wouldn't be surprised if they "wasted" one of their early round picks on a CB. This after trading away Darby and letting Gillmore leave. I understood why they decided to trade away Dareus, Watkins, Darby and Ragland but I didn't like what they got in return and the holes they created in the lineup.
