I believe I saw the Bengals win @ Baltimore on the telly last year. Palmer was flawless in the 2nd half. That kid is going to be a damn good QB. Chad Johnson, TJ WhosYourDaddy, Rudi Johnson, decent line, improving D. Marvin Lewis will get that team into the playoffs soon.

That period of time gave the entire region a boost in nearly all facets. Happier people, sense of community. The football team ended up being very cathartic for the region. Always something to look forward to during training camp and the expectation of playing well into January. I can't believe that was 12 years ago! Hell, I remember when people were complaning after Chuck Knox left when the team might ever win a division again. There was an 8 year gap. Hell, now it is a 9 year gap I believe. Nobody seems to argue that idea anymore. Enjoy it while it lasts.....cause one day the Philadelphia Eagles will finish 5-11, and you'll be looking back at the past as well.

There was a kid in Amherst (elementary school daze), no one ever intervened to save his ass. About 15 years ago he burned down a house in Amherst with his girlfriend inside of it. I guess he is still sitting in the clink.

A friend of mine at the old Sweet Home Elementary had a tape barrier around his desk so he would finally sit still. Was actually a pretty light-hearted moment, and although his face turned a bit red, he was laughing as much as anyone else.

It was weird, because it became old hat after a while. Most any Buffalo sports team would never stay at the elite level of its league for too long. Just a bunch of hits and plenty of misses over the years. I won't forget the regular seasons from 1988-93......when it was simply assured that the Bills would roll over another opponent. Pretty much happened on a weekly basis. Gets into your psyche that the team is invincible (except for a Super Bowl).....but I think when they lost a home game in 92, people were in absolute shock!
