  1. Let go. Set your sights way higher. It's kind of like settling for Honey Boo Boo's mom when you know Erin Andrews is what you're really hoping for.
  2. Except for Sully stating Hackett had only 2 yrs. with the bucs as NFL (he also had two with the Bills under Jauron) , Sully is just stating facts. So, what's the problem? Like I said from the beginning. No one knows what we've got til we see it on the field next season... so, if you think it smells, then don't buy tix or Bills merchandise until you're comfortable the stench has left OBD.
  3. Aint saying his grandma didn't die... Just sayin there's no mention of him attending funeral. And if he's in love with some chick, and the chick dies hours before a game, aint you takin a plane to somewher brsides south bend after the game? perhaps to a funeral or two?
  4. Manti's story doesn't make sense. If it aint makin sense there's a high probability what he's sayin aint true. First he met her, then didn't, but he's in love with her. But all his friends met her and she looks polynesian but the photo of her on TV certainly doesn't look polynesian. So, why is there no mention of him attending the funeral of his Grandmother or girlfriend?
  5. It doesn't add up. One of his high school buds is saying Manti made the whole thing up for pub. If that's true, and Manti is claiming he's the victim, then is Manti a pathological liar, sociopath, or both. The media is gonna be all over this one. If he made the whole thing up, he's screwed.
  6. The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
  7. WTF? I would hope the Bills, especially with a new regime in place, would set their sights a bit higher than McClain. If the Bills can't do better than McClain, then they can never expect to reach the playoffs. If I'm a new HC, establishing a new culture, and knowing I have a few good players, but need a lot more... especially LBs, McClain wouldn't even be on the list.
  8. Gutsy move by the Eagles... Kelly never played or coached on the NFL level and there's a long list of pure college coaches failing in the NFL. However, that was back in yout Daddy's NFL. Today is a different NFL. We shall see.
  9. Who is to say Trestman will work out. The thing that strikes me most about it is the Chicago decision seemed to be made on which coach is better suited to getting Cutler to perform as he was expected to when they acquired him. Say what? Basing much of your decision for HC on a belief that the guy can make a single player function like he should. Whereas the Marrone hiring, Marrone was focusing on the totality of the team, downplaying his offensive prowess and being emphactic that he was the CEO and would not call plays but be involved in all 3 phases and during games be connected via headset and make game decisions and manage the game. I'm not syaing Trestman will or will not work out and the same for Marrone. But, even though Trestman has succeeded as a HC in the CFL and has a an impressive resume in the NFL, we all can't overlook the fact that it took KC and the Bills only a few days to get their coach. And their were 5 other teams that had not selected a coach and then a 6th when the Jags canned Mularkey. If Chiacgo believed Trestman was their man, then why did it take so long? I'm guessing because he could have been plan B? If they were hedging in him or McCoy, well... San Diego pulled the string on McCoy and perhaps made Chicago's decsion for them. So, Was Trestman their A or B candidate? As for the guys everyone thought would have HC jobs by now, why haven't they been hired? Lovie & Whiz, two SB coaches don't seem to be on anyone's radar. Why do you suppose that is? 4 teams are still looking for a new HC and can't seem to find anyone they believe is "the guy". Philly must have interviewed at least a dozen candidates. Paralysis by analysis? Everyone's flavor of the month candidates, ie., Arians, Bevell, Bradley, Kyle Shanahan, Jay Gruden have interviewed with just about everyone but are still out there. There's gotta be a damn good reason.
  10. I believe 80% of it is coaching. If players don't see accountability, a sense of urgency and low energy in their coaching staff, they will perform exactly like that. The thing that struck me the most compared to the teams they played was that the Bills seemed to allways be slower and appeared totally dumbfounded a lot of the time on defense. At least with the new approach, especially on defense, where, instead of being on their heels they are on their toes and in attack mode, thry should play a lot faster. And, I'm sure they're going to get get gashed quite a bit until they settle into their new style, but at least it should be a little more entertaining watching them be more physical and getting after people.
  11. Not Man Ti Teo. He does not have a lot of athletcism or speed for the #8 spot. I remember a few years ago how everyone wanted Poz when the Bills selected 4 picks lower at #12. He ended up going at #34... 2nd round. When the individual workouts and combine conclude, I think it will be clear he is no Keuchly. Now, I don't think he'll slide to the 2nd round, but he certainly could slide to the low 20s... and I've already seen a mock draft that has him around 15.
  12. FYI... I know we all prefer instant pudding and would like it on the screen when we watch a game, but, folks.... just whip out your smart phone and use the "stop watch" feature. Should be right in your clock dialogue. I sometimes use it during a game to see snap to release time for QBs and punt hang time. If you want to watch a clinic, this Sunday, time Brady's snap to release. I mean, man there were a few times it was so quick I couldn't stop that dern thing quick enough. I mean, like less than 1.5 seconds.
  13. Not true. In college FB you are in serious competition with other schools & recruiters. And, in the case of Marrone & Syr., he had to bring in a lot of one & two star recruits to field a team. Syr didn't have the facilities or tradition to compete for players. In the NFL Marrone is on a more even playing field with a salary cap.
  14. You have no idea what will happen. New regime, new philosphy, Marrone doesn't owe tany of them anything. And, Buddy may be the GM "today", but Whaley will be the GM soon and Whaley will have a greater say in who is staying on the plate and who is getting pushed off the plate. Going forward the table is being set for Marrone and Whaley. The one thing college coaches are really good at is turning over a roster. They are used to turning a roster 100% every four years.... and I believe that is a part of the reason Marrone was hired.
  15. fans should decide coaching staffs. Someone put up a poll to see if we need a poll for asst. coaches and then poll for them.
  16. One can make a case that none of the above will be re-signed. I don't see the Bills getting into a bidding war over Byrd and Levitre. There are going to be 2 or 3 teams going hard after Levitre... San Diego being one.... they couldn't protect Rivers this past season. Byrd could draw some interest from a few teams as well. McElvin? Is he a returner with nickel/dime coverage skills or is he a corner with returner skills. He's had 5 years to lock down a starting job, which he didn't do. Wherever he ends up, it would be astounding if he got a pay raise. Rhinehart? I'm thinking he's outa here. Colin Brown would get signed before him... more versatile and bigger upside. Not that he may start if Levitre is lost. I believe G would be addressed in draft if needed... plus they could give Brandon Moore a look and he'd come cheaper than Levitre. Scott... I think he's on the fence. I think the Bills load up on LBs and I don't see giving reps to Scott there a wise move if you've made the effort to staff at LB. Safety... he's got a shot, especially if Byrd moves on and Wilson is shifted to FS. Jones & Nelson? What have you done for me lately? Bills have not won more than 6 games with them in a prominent role. Both seem to be hurt more than the average wideout. Neither stretches the D regardless of the QB. I definitely believe the Bills ar going to give Easley a look and also bring in a couple of big wideouts with speed. Bottom line is the Bills are going to be agressive on both sides of the ball. So, of their current roster, what players are better suited to play fast and downhill? We shall see.
  17. There will be many suitors if he's released. We all know he's damaged goods and shoots from the lip a lot of times.... so there are maintenance issues for the buyer to beware of. It comes down to what he's got left in the tank and what's it worth. A team with a 3-4 D, and is one OLB short of a potential conf. crown. Houston? There are gonna be a few guys out there that are similar.... Bart Scott, Cal Pace ....
  18. Why can't people allow someone to make their own hiring instead of "meddling like Ralph. 1) You have no idea what parameters have been established for the hire... budget, experience, specific expertise. 2) You wouldn't hire anyone that was not in lock step with your plan or anyone that you could not trust. 3) You have no idea who has been approached, who has inquired about coaching openings and who has turned down any offers. Since Marrone took over. Not one damn game has been lost, not one damn player has been injured, not one damn player has been cut, not one damn player has been re-signed, not one damn player has been drafted, not one damn Free agent has been signed, and lastly. NOT ONE DAMN PERSON KNOWS HOW THIS HIRE IS GOING TO PLAY OUT. So, why don't people just STFU about this hire and stuff they are totally cluless about it. If you don't want to buy Bills tix, Bills pens, Bills, T shirts, Bills hats,.. DON'T. I mean Marrone has proffesional working relationships with every damn one of these people. WTF do you want.... already established mindsets like Lovie, Norv, Whiz, Mularkey, Crennel? They haven't established any track record of or willingness to adapt to their personnel.... they are SYSTEM guys. Anyone still out there with an open mind?
  19. That really doesn't tell us much... 1) 40+ could very easily mean most of those were 40 - 43 yards for Lindell and 44 -49 for Janikowski. 2) It doesn't indicate conditions for either kicker, wind, cold, rain, snow, sunny, warm, indoors. That is definitely a factor 3) What about kickoffs? That is important as well.
  20. But then again, he thought Dick was the man. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2013-01-11/sports/ct-spt-0112-mitchell-bears-chicago--20130112_1_qb-coach-fame-coach-marv-levy-head-coach
  21. Lindell makes around $2m. But, seeing how his $3.6m bonus is spread equally over his 4 yr. Contract, cutting him before June would count $600,000 on salary cap. After June they save about $300k. They'd also have to pay a replacement. So if you want lindell out, best case scenario is to bring in rookie that beats him out and cut him before the season. Caveat... Buffalo is one of the worst places to kick, if not the worst in the NFL. You can't judge a rookie's ability to kick in the elements in August. Therefore, you better find a kicker that has routinely booted in bad weather with wind. Potter may still be an option if he's worked at it and available. I still haven't figured out why more CFL kickers aint pursued. They kick in some nasty conditions in Oct. & early Nov. + they get points for kicking it out of the end zone. So, you'd think there are a lot of kickers with strong legs.
  22. 1) Buddy ain't gonna be here next year.... maybe even right after the draft he's gone. 2) see #1 3) You don't know until about 2 months from now if they will be re-signed. 4) Bills won't save any salary cap $ by cutting Kelsay. In 2010, what were Buddy's options?... Remember... Schoebel was on the fence (and eventually retired). 5) Biggest game of Lynch's career, 16 carries, 46 yds., and 1 fumble. He aint Jereome Bettis. Lynch lost his job & had to be moved. The two picks turned out to be Brooks & Asper. (Buddy took the day off after the 4th round). 6) What was the question? Fitz?, yeah, that was way stupid. Worst case, let the season play out and franchise or transition him if he playes well. As it turned out, he sucked and Buddy would have had to draft a QB and who knows where Fitz would have ended up
  23. Get r dun Buddy. After signing all these FAs the Bills will need to cut $70M from the salary cap. Hint... each FA comes with a signing bonus
  24. Bills so need a bad boy.
