  1. No way at #8,,,
  2. The ghost of Rob Johnson lives.
  3. Do you see the same leadership qualities when you watch a Brady interview?
  4. Interest does not mean an offer will be extended. Hopefully they just asked his agent if he was available for the minimum salary and a Ted's smokehouse gift card for a signing bonus.
  5. Excuse me, but do you want the Bills to upgrade at qb or downgrade? If the Bills had either one of these chumps, we'd all be begging for Fitz.
  6. Cut Nelson? Seems to me the Bills want to get better. I can see Marrone evaluating game footage of Nelson from the Dallas game in 2011 and observing Nelson run pratically the length of the field after he scored a td and deliver the ball to his Dallas Cowboy cheerleader girlfriend. Stuff like that sends a message to coach that's all business. No way that happens if he played for Belichick.
  7. Provo graduated last year. Beckett Wales and Dave Stevens were the TEs this year. I think they are both seniors.
  8. Oh, I get both sides of the argument. Yeah, everything is in play. However, let's talk "REALITY", not "PIE IN THE SKY". The big "glitch" here is cutting him before they have a better option is essentially cap neutral, cut him now and they're out a starting QB and they they take the same cap hit as if they keep him this year. Mind you, there are two Bills FA players (Byrd and Levitre) that they'd like to bring back, plus they will need a bonafide TE, cuz Chandler ain't gonna be back before at least mid season or beyond. Fitz will definitely be gone at some point, whether he takes a cut or not. If the Bills want to soften the blow on the cap, they can cut him in June when it rolls to the next cap year. That will save them around $4.5m on the 2013 cap (his salary for 2013 that they wouldn't have to pay). The cap hit for 2014 would be $4m with him gone. How this is likely to play out is one of two ways... 1) Fitz stays on for 2013 and then is let go. 2) Between March 12 and June 15, Bills seek out a veteran QB that is an upgrade over Fitz with a better arm, that can be a caretaker for a year, possibly two, that will work for $5m. If and when they do that, Fitz will be cut in June. 3) They cut Fitz on June 15 and ride the rookie draft pick. Better have the oline solidified though with 9 guys deep that can actually play because if it starts falling apart, the rookie QB will follow. Personally, I see option 1 as reality, possibly, option 3. I just don't see any QB out there in FA that anyone can say is a clear upgrade over Fitz. Any such argument is speculation and that includes Alex Smith. Fitz ranks around #20 of 32 NFL starters. So, folks have to come to the reality there just isn't a better option out there at qb right now. Yeah, Bills made a humongous mistake in making the deal with Fitz and painted themselves in a corner in the process. They are gonna pay for it one way or the other.
  9. Overvalue? Not. I'm totally in agreement that Fitz sucks. That's totally irrelivant because right now the Bills don't have a better option. It is what it is. Much like Rob Johnson & Dick Jauron, Ralph got a "woody" over Fitz when he went on that string of wins and wanted to lock him up. Bottom line... Fitz will be on the Bills roster come March 4. Don't forget to stop back and show Dr. T the love for his foresight.
  10. I would have to venture a guess that many of his peers are there. Folks tend to forget it aint just an event for scouts and players. Anyone and everyone behind the scenes in NFL circles is there. It is a huge networking event. This team is now a ward of Russ, and he would be remiss if not there. There is plenty for him to learn for sure, but people tat think he is just a marketing guy that doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground are as ignorant as a zit on a pig's ass. He's been around the Bills for 15 years and around the Butlers, Adams, Donahoes, Modracks, Nixes, Levys, etc. You don't continually rub elbows with those types and lose brain cells in the process. Through that he slowly worked his way into the top of Ralph's inner circle. He probably is Ralph's most trusted employee ever, and judging from Polian's most recent comments, regarding the Bills beating the rest of the NFL to Marrone, I'd have to say the sounds to me Polian just gave Brandon an endorsement as well.
  11. Dadgommit! Does this mean Kelsay is moving to ILB, SS, NT, or TE???
  12. Have YOU thought about what the logical path forwatd is if fitz gets cut prior to march 3rd? Jax is your qb... period. He's worse than if fitz were playing with a patch on one eye and his right hand pinned to his waist. If I'm an agent, I'm ringin the bills phone til it burns up... cuz I got a starting qb in my free agent stable that I'll let you rent for a year or two. I got leinart, hoyer, quinn, grossman (yeah, a superbowl qb), tebow, moore, mccown, gradkowski, painter. You mame him, i got him in my free agent junk yard. He'll cost 50% more than he'd sign for a yeam that has a stable of somewhat competent qbs... but that's only cuz you got s#it at qb and i know he's only gonna be there a year cuz you are drafting a qb in april for 2014... and heck your draftee may start at some point in 2013. So... a rex grossman or matt leinart are gonna cost ya $4m/yr. Guaranteed. Oh, sorry... these guys gotta get paid for starting. It aint my problem you cut fitz knowing your cap hit was 10m if you kept him or 10m if you cut him. So , it aint my problem you have to tack an extra 4m to your cap to pay for my rent a qb. And it aint my problem that with jax on board you are carrying a salary of $16m on the cap for qbs... not counting your rookie qb... oh, and speaking of which, every team in the league knows you got s#it at qb with no fitz zn just jax and rental... so you better grab your qb at #8 cuz if you don't, teams are gonna be jumping in front of you in the next 2 rounds to grab their qb knowing you want to draft one if you haven't taken him on rd 1. Good luck drafting your franchise guy in round 4. But... look on the bright side... he won't count much against the cap. Checkmate!!!
  13. Well stated and spot on. At least it appears there are a handful of 'wallers' that actually use sound logic and sanity rather than pure unbridled emmotion when opining.
  14. Nope. He won't be cut til the Bills have a stone cold lock at qb. And right now it aint Jax and it aint Corp. They'll swallow the $3m. They aint gonna take a 10m cap hit this year and then have to pay some journeyman qb $5-6m just to hold the fort for a season. Plus not having fitz going into fa and the draft leaves the bills holding no cards.
  15. If he gets cut, my guess is it will be in mid june, which would soften the cap blow a bit by spreading his bonus into 2014 cap.
  16. I think you are right on Andy. He's not elite. He is solid, not spectacular. Slaussen could be had for Urbik money and the Bills actually get more physical at LG. On Byrd. Although I think the FT is definitely in play, I've got this gut feeling that because Byrd is only 26, the Bills might try to work a 7 year deal that would have a comfortable opt out for both at the end of year 5.
  17. Rams put in a waiver claim on him. Then realized what a really stupid mistake they made and waived him.
  18. FAs from other teams can't be signed by other teams til FA actully begins... 3/12 I believe. They can begin negotiations though on Feb. 28.
  19. Bills have been averaging 50,000 season tix sales over the past decade with a piss poor product. Russ has no problem getting to 50K with a s#it product. Free agency and the draft aint even started, so it's way too early for Russ' annual Koolaid revealing. But, once the batch of Koolaid is rolled out, trust me, the masses will be lining up for it. Mark that down. Russ will meet or exceed 50K once agian.
  20. Totally absurd to suggest Lemon is better wr than Nassib is QB. Lemon has been in and out of the Syr lineup. When he was out Nassib went to guys like Van Chew, Nick Provo, jeff west, beckett wales, marcus sales... and most of those guys were in and out with injuries. Nassib is the only qb in the top 8 that didn't have what many would consider a top shelf or elite receiver. Nassib is much like Brady... he has to be in a defined system where it is mind over matter...you pick your opponent apart with your brain and the supporting cast being on the same page. Nassib has the physical gifts... his arm is very good, his accuracy is very good, his leadership qualities are very good, his mobility is good, his hands are the largest of the QBs except for manual, and he is the strongest QB of the bunch... he benches 400 lbs., and his decision making is good. However, his brain is superior to every damn one of them... he's an academic all american and graduated last May.T So, Nassib had a tough time in the senior bowl, which is a useless benchmark in evaluating Nassib... it was just a display of physical attributes. Nassib is Nassib with and without Lemon. If not Lemon, someone else catches Nassob's passes... and Nassib repeatedly demonstrated that over the past 3 years. In a program that was so fractured for so long... Nassib and just a handful of others on both sides of the ball were the only supporting cast he had. ..
  21. Ah... stay tuned. See what he writes after the combine. Bet he does an about face. Maybe Buddy's up to his old tricks, strategically planting misinformation under writers noses and they're taking the bait. All so Buddy can get him at 41.
  22. So, who is throwing to him?
  23. How stupid is he? On a scale of 1-10 I give him a 20. Loaded handgun in his carry on bag at LaGuardia? WTF? He has no chance getting past security. That is one stupid dude... and that just can't be fixed.
  24. Just a side thought or two. If the strength of the draft is number of good defensive front seven guys, then there's good value there all three days. What there isn't a lot of, apparently, is OL and QB. So, it comes down to supply & demand. And where supply is low and demand high, the cupboards will be bare after rd. 3 @ OL & QB.
  25. I wouldn't franchise either. Slaussen could easily fill Levitre's shoes for Urbik money. Landry is proven in Pettine's offense and will cost less. On the other hand, the Bills could put the tag on one or the other that gives the Bills the right to match or get a draft pick or two from the team that ultimately signs them.
