The Giants Insider June/July 2008 post draft issue
Buffalo Wing replied to Tom's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Had this swap of picks happened, any speculation as to who the Bills would have taken at that point? -
That's an error. The Chiefs signed him to contract last week.
-
No, you're mistaken. It was the guys at ESPN saying he was one of the greatest QBs of all time and it was the best offseason move in a decade.
-
By swapping slots with San Diego in the 1st round, that move equates to 550 points in the draft value chart. That is equivalent to a high 2nd round choice. Given the current market of trading STARTING running backs, there is no way Marv should do this. Michael Turner is BACK-UP running back...and in the final year of his contract. In all fareness to AJ Smith, I offer him the 3rd round pick we acquired from Baltimore for Willis McAssClown and say "take it or leave it".

In terms of the Bills, ERIK FREAKIN' FLOWERS! Talk about letting the results of the Combine drive your selection process!

2006 Draft a year removed...
Buffalo Wing replied to Chicken Wing '73's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But....but....Marv reached for Whitner. That's what they said. But...but...Marv should have taken Broderick Bunkley. That's what they said. Bite me Mike Golic! Bite me Chris Mortensen! Bite me Mel Kiper! -
This is the most rational draft analysis i've seen
Buffalo Wing replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Texans just signed Ahman Green and Ron Dayne. Add them to Wali Lundy and Samkon Gado. No way they take another running back to add to that mix. You'll have way too much money locked into one position. Houston needs offensive line help in the worst way. -

Very good draft! I agreed with everything up to Minnesota taking Peterson. They have Chester Taylor as their stud running back. They need a WR and a TE in the worst way. Ted Ginn at #7 is too early...and Greg Olsen at #7 is too early. They may be in a pickle and have to "overdraft" if no one is willing to trade picks with them! In this scenario it is a VERY real possibility that Peterson falls to us at #12 if Cleveland passes on him. I am really starting to believe that there is a 50-50 chance that he falls to us! Just last month I would have said that there is about a 2% chance. -
With The 12th Pick The Buffalo Bills Select?
Buffalo Wing replied to Yasin's BILLS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marv's philosophy is "run and stop the run". Say hello to Okoye in Round 1. -
John Clayton just said on ESPN Radio...
Buffalo Wing replied to MattM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gosh, that John Clayton, now there is some great insight. Thanks Captain Obvious, you pencil-necked chuckle nut! -
Gosh, after this week, let's bring up some bad Bills memories!

Dillon at OBD today?????
Buffalo Wing replied to Navy Chief Navy Pride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Throw my hat in too guys! I agree. You get a speedster to run between the 20's. You bring in Dillon when you are in tight against your own end zone or in the opponent's red zone. Smash mouth football. -
Scouting Combine (Day 1)
Buffalo Wing replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I always laugh at his fantasy picks during the year. For example, he'll say for an Indy game, "I expect Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, and Joseph Addai to put up good numbers this week". Really Gil? Sure about that? -
GET ER DONE MARV!

Ok everyone, looking for some food ideas...beyond the traditional chips/salsa, pizza, wings, and barley & hops beverages, what do you serve at your Super Bowl parties? I would like to add some different stuff this year!
-
Heck, they could bring in Kay Stephenson or Hank Bullough to coach the Fins and the talking heads at ESPN would annoint them as a wild card team. Death, taxes, and the pre-season hype of the Miami Dolphins - three things you can take to the bank. I am so tired of the hype that is given to this team year in and year out.

Bye bye Jerk Face! As much as I do not like Belicheck, Mora is worse! What an arrogant punk!

Couple minor comments... (1) Regarding the comments that Whitner got schooled by Antonio Gates. News flash here kids - GATES SCHOOLS MOST (IF NOT ALL) SAFETIES! (2) Regarding the comments that we should have kept Milloy. As I seem to recall, Milloy was one of the players last year that created dissention in the ranks. Him, Moulds, and Adams. That's why Marv let them all go.

We had a crappy draft...that's what the "experts" said...

Another year of Coy Freakin' Wire!!!!! NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Anyone see this...http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playernews.aspx?sport=NFL&line=72082 Bills signed DB/WR LaShaun Ward, formerly of the Cowboys. Ward was with Buffalo earlier in the offseason, but was cut, then signed with Dallas for a short time. He was tried at wideout with the Cowboys but will play in Buffalo's secondary. Could this be one of the reasons that King was cut?
-
Sorry to say this but I will be the first guy heckling Mr. Whitner when/if he shows up to camp. Sign the damn contract, you jerk! After spending $80000 in gas & tolls to bring my kids across the state to watch this guy in camp, I'll make sure to ask him if he can spare a few bucks so that I refill the tank and get the family back home.

Here's the link from ESPN regarding Spacek: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=2510111 Seems to confirm what my friend (#1 Oiler fan) and Alaska Darin have stated. Woo-hoo!
