  1. It will be interesting to see how Bowen comes back this year. As I recall, he was actually pushing for a starting job last year before the injury. He may the wild card in the search for a linebacker.
  2. Yeah, I have a source - although I cannot tell who it is - and this source told me that he and George Siefert were at the airport yesterday.
  3. The one player at the top of the target list over at buffalorumblings as the free agency period approached was Sean Jones - the safety from the Cleveland Browns. I have not seen his name mentioned anywhere - no visits to any teams whatsoever! Living down here in Northeast Ohio, I can say that he was dinged up from time to time last year....so I'm not sure if there is something more going on that are turning teams off. Has anyone heard anything about him?
  4. Ok, I need someone to pull me off the ledge this morning. Here's how I see it: (1) The two free agents that the FO seemed to be most excited about - Fred Taylor and Lavvy Coles - were NOT even available until the last week when their respective teams released them. These guys got added to the original "shopping list" at the last minute - what the heck did the original list look like? - oh wait, read #2 below... (2) Taking those two players out of the mix, the other players that the FO has brought around to kick the tires out of the free agent gates are some special teams players (i.e., Kelly Washington, Drayton Florence) and a back-up quarterback (Ryan Fitzpatrick). Are you kidding me? (3) The next group of players that the FO is bringing through the doors at OBD include an offensive lineman coming off a significant injury (Kendall Simmons) and a back-up offensive lineman (Geoff Hangnail) that some people are excited about because he used to have to block Kris Jenkins in practice. Are you kidding me? (4) While I was trying to get excited about this team, I see reports that Jason Brown (the ideal offensive lineman in this year's class for handling the nose tackle in a 3-4 defense) and Brandon Moore (a very solid starting offensive lineman that played within our division) were signed/resigned! Are you kidding me? I'm sorry to be a Negative Nancy on the start of a weekend, but c'mon now, this is getting ridiculous! Say what you want about the FO being patient and following the models of success of other organizations that are patient....and blah, blah, blah.....but we no longer have the track record to be patient! This team is FAR from being a final landing spot for free agents. Time to get aggressive gentlemen! Send John Guy back down to Tim Horton's to complain that they were given decaf coffee yesterday.
  5. You are correct. It's called the "Four Corners." I grew up in Clarence. Parents still live there - they live about half-a-dozen miles from the crash site. I've been gone for about 15 years now - still miss Western New York very much. My wife received a call at 6:30 AM this morning from one of her friends. Turns out her friend's dad was on the flight. Tough day for many people. Buffalo will come through as a shining example of what "community" means during this tragedy! Thoughts and prayers to all.
  6. I came across this on a DraftInsiders web site regarding traded picks in the 2009 draft: 3rd Round NY Jets from New Orleans - LB Jonathan Vilma (Pick secured and can escalate to a #2 selection if Vilma resigns with Saints as a FA prior to NFL Draft 2009) I know that many have talked about signing Vilma in the offseason. It would appear that if we were to sign him, it might serve two purposes: (1) adding a middle linebacker and allowing Poz to move outside, and (2) prohibitng a division rival from securing another pick for themselves in the 2nd round.
  7. I have lived outside WNY for the last ~20 years and make a trip back each Fall to attend at least 1 game (sometimes 2 games) with family & friends. At this point, enough is enough. No more. A relationship is two-sided, Mr. Wilson! Mr Wilson has, in effect, pulled out of a relationship with his fan base.....and as a result, this fan has effectively terminated his yearly trip(s) to attend game(s). Thanks for the memories.
  8. Just let me know when we sign that "name" player in free agency.......................... 'CAUSE IT AIN'T GOING TO HAPPEN!
  9. It's official - this organization is an absolute train wreck! Chewing on a tin foil ball with a mouthful of fillings is less painful than being a fan of this team.
  10. I read a quote once that stated "One mark of a great leader is his/her team is willing to follow him to Hell with squirt guns." If we filter this quote through the Bills organization, my impression is that a lot of the Bills players would be willing to follow Jauron to Hell with squirt guns, however I think one of the bigger issues is that a lot of key position players would not know how to use their squirt guns once they got there (cf. Royal, Kelsay, Fowler, et al)! Bottom line is this - it's not just the coach, it's not just the players, it's not just the owner - I think there are numerous problems with this team that all stem back to the time when John Butler left....and as fans, it has been a rough road watching and hoping that someone could put it back together again.
  11. What does that have to do with the topic at hand? Or are you just plain ignorant?
  12. I have really come to dislike Jayboy Cutler!
  13. This team is a freakin' train wreck!
  14. You might be right....time for another beer!
  15. I am going to become a Lions fan.....no expectations to win there.....I can actually enjoy my Sunday afternoons from now on.....
  16. Just when I think it can't get any worse.....it has gotten worse!!!!!!!!! Check with me in another 15 minutes and I'm sure it will be even worse than now....
  17. We've got problems, no doubt. Although look a few hours southwest and the QB situation is just as ugly. Cleveland lost Brady Quinn for the season last week and now they lose Derek Anderson this week. Welcome to the NFL spotlight, Mr. Ken Dorsey. And good luck going against Tennessee, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh in the weeks to come! FYI: Browns fans have been buying tickets for the last few months to throw Randy Lerner (owner), Phil Savage (GM), and Romeo Crennel (Coach) into Lake Erie. Things down here in NE Ohio are almost as brutal as in Upstate NY.
  18. Who cares? Seriously. Who cares? Both Buffalo sports teams are #1 in their respective divisions and we're wasting time talking about this POS. Seriously. Cmon people. Nothing to see here. Move along.
  19. Who cares about Dan Patrick? I really want to hear his boyfriend's prediction - Keith Olberman. Now there's a prediction that I can really hang my hat on!
  20. Agree 100% on Corto. Excellent discussion on him.
  21. His "but" is in camp right now (as in "but, but, but, my agent tells me to stay home")....it's his "butt" that needs to get there!
  22. On Father's Day weekend no less....in a way, it is fitting....Big Russ and son Luke must be devastated....but he gets to go home to be with the ultimate Father! God bless Tim!
  23. But how will our cheerleaders do? What did Lindy say? I'm dying to know!
