  1. Thanks ...BTW, this host is from Rochester!!
  2. I typically get to 2 games a year, and the Chiefs game was my first this season. I had heard about Mr. Brightside becoming the Bills anthem, but had not experienced it till this game. WOW...just WOW. When it came on in the 4th quarter, with the Bills ahead but the game not done yet, I couldn't believe how the energy, in the stands, on the Bills sideline, and in the Bills huddle, kicked up even further. The fans stood and sang, and a lot of the guys on the sideline were bouncing around, mostly the TE group, Mac Hollins, Toohill, and a few others. And the guys on the field , waiting for the tv timeout to be over, were jumping around as well. It is truly the fans and team coming together. If you haven't been to a game yet this year, I'd encourage you to go on you tube and find any of the dozen clips in there. Just a great tradition that apparently sprung up organically, not one forced on the game, like that train whistle.
  3. SDS, what a wonderful eulogy. Obviously, I never knew John personally, but you fleshed him out beautifully. It always brightened my board reading time when I saw a post from John. He'd been my favorite regular poster for many year, and I was wondwering why I hadn't seen any comments from his in a long time. I will miss his voice of reason that made this board a better place. Yet another person I will think of when we finally get the Lombardi!
  4. Thanks Shaw, great analysis. Hopefully that will help talk some folks off the ledge. I'm not sure how we will do in 2024. Possibly tread water, possibly move up or down a bit. But with the draft capital for 2025, and with the cap money we will have next year, if ther Dolphins/Jets/Pats don't get us next year, I believe their window to get us "closes" for another 4-5 years.
  5. Not trying to be a jerk, but I thought he retired 2-3 years ago!!
  6. I have a Bills golf bag, so I get it a lot on the golf course. If it is a Bills fan, I laugh and come back with , "This is Our Year". Always happy to have a chat if the circumstances allow. It's especially fun when I am on a golf vacation somewhere way out of town. Even when it's not a Bills fan, the comment often is, "I'm rooting for you guys to win one", and I always respond, "Still some room on the bandwagon, jump on while you can!"
  7. I would guess because Tre has a much longer history of solid contributions to this team, and was a key contributor to the regular season and playoff success in the last 7 years. That has allowed him to build up a reservoir of goodwill with the fans. Beyond a few important plays in his first season, Von has not been a contributor here, and therefore, does not have a load of goodwill to fall back on. I do believe he will rebound, not fully, but enough so that at his new salary, he will not be a boatanchor to the Bills next year.
  8. I wish him all the best. But I do have to say after the way this team, and this community, rallied around him both emotionally and financially, it seems a little...ungrateful? (Unless there was more to the comment that I have not seen.)
  9. Any chance we can spike Von's cereal with some of this stuff....asking for a friend
  10. I've got the perfect replacement for Miami.....Ken Dorsey. he's the only coordinator I've seen who can put a lid on JA17's productivity
  11. No challenging your facts on our special team challenges this year. And if Smiley's schemes or personnel usage have led to blocked kicks or long returns, he needs to be held accountable for that. But how much does a special teams coach impact the performance of the kicker (assuming he has chosen the proper snapper and holder)? I always assumed the kickers have their own skill coaches, much like JA has Palmer. If Bass shanks a 27 yd. FG, or pushes a 45 yarder wide , is that really the fault of the ST coach?
  12. Sabres play tomorrow HAHA...I'm a moron. Just flicked on the tv, watching Sabres--Canucks. Assumed it was live. Thanks.
  13. I understand the need for safety. But if the ability to get to the game and home safely was the true driver, why are the Sabres playing a home game right now? Is it because the weather is much "milder" near the arena compared to OP?
  14. It didn't get mentioned anywhere that I am aware of, but I thought KC made a very bad strategic desision. None of Bass' kicks reached the end zone, yet they fair caught every one. Given how mediocre our coverage has been, I don't see why they wouldn't have tried to return a couple. (Look how successful they were on that punt return.) We're not the only team with questionable coaching!!
  15. Their coach was constantly rule bending And their owner paid for a happy ending Their new quarterback's crappy Barely better better than Zappe And no longer are the Pats contending.
