  1. Very cool! From what I’ve heard he’s looking and doing well. Thanks for sharing.
  2. After hitting for the cycle today in another minor league game, Conforto has talked himself into a Greapefruit League game tomorrow as DH! Excellent news.
  3. Thanks! I mean how much more can we discuss Darnold, Allen, Rosen and Mayfield? I’m ready for some ball!
  4. Conforto played in a minor league game today and hit not 1 but 2!!!!!!!! Hr's off get this.......to LEFTIES this morning. One of them being Tim Peterson, their top draft pick last year. Yes it's only minor leaguers and basically a simulated game for the most part but to me that is EXCELLENT news. Everything I have read from the Met beat writers on twitter is they expect him back before the original May 1 date. Just think of how the lineup will lengthen when he gets back. And I apologize if I am hogging the thread on here, I'm a bit of a chatterbox when it comes to the Mets and just consider myself lucky that I found a good board that I can talk both of my favorite teams Mets and Bills.
  5. I live on Binghamton and go to a lot of Rumble Pony games...I got to see Alonso play in his very brief call up last August. There is some sheer, true and raw power there. The sound of the crack off his bat is spectacular. He hit them on to the rail yard beyond LF with ease. However...he is an absolutely butcher with the glove so I'm hoping he works on there. It really is as bad as advertised. Agree with the rest on Flores but once Conforto comes back then Nimmo is odd man out unfortunately unless you stick Bruce at 1B. Looks like the pitchers are rounding into shape as Harvey had a very encouraging outing yesterday against the Cards A squad. Looks like he mixed in his slider/change up with his fastball according to the Cards radio guy I had on XM. Good signs but of course I am cautiously optimistic. Since he pitched against the Cards and that's who they play opening series I'm assuming that means the opening series will be Noah, Jake and then Matz on Easter Sunday. Only 8 more days!!! LGM
  6. Agree but with less than a week left in call, shouldn’t Bruce at least start getting some reps at 1B? I don’t see what trotting Gonzalez out there is going to do. Bruce was the emergency 1B plan if Agon bombs (which he appears to be doing) and if Smith underwhelms again. Well he’s hurt soooooo I’m just baffled why Bruce is getting no looks in exhibition games. At least let him brush the dust off. ??‍♂️
  7. I wonder how long Sandy sticks with A-Gon? He looks absolutely fried. I tend to give vets the benefit of the doubt in ST (Frazier hasn't had a great ST), but he just looks like toast. It's too bad Smith got hurt for the first time in his entire career this ST because all he had to do was hit .250 and could have probably won the job. I hope they at least platoon Flores at 1B until they ride out Agon. Knowing Alderson, he will at least give him 3 or so weeks of April to let Gonzalez wake up. Not at all happy about it but I don't see them cutting ties with him for at least a few weeks. Nice too see Frazier hit a double. I know a lot were happy about that signing but he will provide a rock solid D, hit you 25 or so bombs and knock on 75 or more than I am A-ok with that.
  8. Anyone else immediately think of Mr. Vargas from Fast Times instead of Jason Vargas? in all seriousness I read a tweet from Rubin saying Nats pitchers Drew Storen had same injury in ST 2015 and didn’t even need a DL trip so there’s a good shot he will only miss one turn in the rotation with all the off days in April. Ok so Matz looked very sharp today against one of the best lineups in not only baseball but one of the best in a long time. Correa mashes lefties anyhow so only he did the damage. 9K’s, didn’t go into usual meltdown mode after the HR, had Altuve at 3-1 count and came back to K him. Attacked the zone and most importantly......0 walks! He just won a rotation spot IMO. I flip flop my opinion on him going to Vegas haha
  9. You’re right, I looked that up and thought it was more. I reallf hope Agon is on a short leash. I’m fine with Flores playing 1B for now even against righties. Totally agree on Bruce
  10. Former Met and Cardinal Neil Allen. The key component of trade that netted Keith Hernandez
  11. Back in the late 80’s, my Dad was driving the family to the Jersey shore for family vacation. The Garden St Parkway has those booths you mentioned...anyhow he was trying to show off and be funny at one of the booths by “slam dunking” the quarters into the basket. Well it backfired and he somehow jammed up where the coin is inserted and broke the damn thing. The gate wouldn’t go up and cars started backing up honking at us all over hah! Your post made me think of a great childhood memory so thanks!
  12. He probably lives on Liberty St on the North side.
  13. Bruce played and adequate 1B last year while Callaway was in Cleveland and a handful of games with the Mets. I think he can handle it if need be and has said he has no problems doing so. Matz to Vegas IMO.
  14. The Jets took a calculated risk, I think Buffalo should do the same. It's been long enough.
  15. Don't worry, I read it the same as you.
  16. I was having a great weekend..... UMBC beat Virginia, Cuse advances. This puts a damper on it a bit.
  17. TC: Nice guy and they never quit under him. However I am glad he is gone and time for a yonger and fresher voice. Know how many times I used to see a young player go 3-4 and th next day be rotting on the bench? He loved his vets WAY to much for my liking. I am very excited for the Callaway era to commence. Would be nice to win a ST game or two before the bell rings too!!! lol
  18. Something NEVER done under the TC and Warthen era. Gas can Robles scares me.
  19. Met fan here!! Nice to see some fellow Bills and Mets fans on this board. I do not post much, mainly in the OT site. I pick my spots. My thoughts on the team (Even thought this ST has been pretty abysmal) One of the best 1-2 in the NL with Noah and Jake.....however 3-5 in the rotation is wide open and can either be very solid or also very shaky. Bullpen will definitely be very interesting. I'm not a huge Ramos guy setting up for a healthy Familia but I do think Swarzak was a good pickup, Blevins is always steady but who will be th other LOOGY? Purke? (meh), Matz if he does not make the rotation? Rhame? I am hearing Conforto is ahead of schedule and could return sometime in April, If so that is GREAT news! Agon has looked like TRASH this ST but I bet he gets a sh*t ton of rope with Smith being hurt. Jay Bruce anyone? Nimmo has had a SENSATIONAL ST. Love what this kid brings to the table with is OBP, smiling, walks, he hits and is a decent OF'er. Lagares is still trash. Ces will be fine as will Bruce. I have thuis team anywhere from 78 wins on the VERY low end to a realistic 83-85 wins. If they get any luck or some over performances from anyone, I think they can maybe.....maybe maybe maybe compete for the WC but I realistically see them at about 82 wins. Anyhow..just wanted to drop in and say hello.....LGM! And Bills!
  20. My buddy say Bill Cowher at the airport several years ago.
  21. I liked the version from Bob’s Country Bunker the best
  22. Loved it until Season 3. Wow did that ever fall REALLY REALLY flat for me. Apparently the state of Florida ran out of funding for these crews to shoot movies in their states so they had to pack it up and end the series early and it really shows. Damn I was so bummed about Season 3, especially the last few episodes.
