  1. All true. That was the era of the Running Back and OJ was the greatest there was. In today’s NFL, he would be a wide receiver, and a great one, a faster, more devastating version of Debo Samuel.
  2. And because the Bills of that era had the worst coaches in the history of professional football, OJ didn't really even get started until his fourth year in the league. He would have been an incredible WR in todays game...
  3. I believe the Bills as a team passed for less than 1000 yards that year. Think about that...
  4. But what about the frequency of running plays down there? Running plays are generally more successful than pass plays inside the 5-yard line. My sense is that the Bills rarely tried to run the ball down there, other than Josh.
  5. One thing is for sure: In a civil lawsuit like this, it's very easy to obtain records showing exactly how much everyone made from the movie rights and where that money went. If, as has been reported, the movie grossed more than $300 million, then the numbers involved are probably much higher than you've indicated above. One last point: the notion that Oher tried to "shake them down" for eight figures before the lawsuit was filed is silly. It's standard practice before filing a lawsuit like this to make a pre-litigation demand. It's not extortion, or even immoral.
  6. Correct. He was already a star athlete before they “took him in”. Well it’s pretty easy to find out exactly how much money they made off the movie…our legal system is quite good at that…guess we’ll find out…
  7. Kingsbury was powerless to do anything to rein in Manziel. Even Kevin Sumlin was powerless. (It is interesting that Sumlin was not interviewed for the documentary.)
  8. How did Kingsbury come off looking bad? I thought he was one of the few who came out of it just fine…
  9. They "guided" him into being 6'6", 340 lbs and highly athletic? I think you're taking the movie too literally. They were nice to him and helped him out; that doesn't mean they get credit for what he became. Without reading the complaint, it's hard to know what Oher's legal theory is or whether there are facts to support it, but if the Toueys told everyone they didn't make money from the movie and in fact they made millions that they did not share with Michael, then they could have a problem.
  10. Does it seem rotten to you that they made millions off the movie and Oher didn't get a dime (allegedly)?
  11. At least...it's because of guys like Manziel that the NCAA's free ride eventually came to an end...there's something really wrong with schools making billions off of guys like Manziel, Flutie, Mariota, etc. and them not getting a dime of it (legally, anyway).
  12. Maybe on a team like the Bills, but the 2022 Texans had a very thin roster. I don't know the exact numbers, but I'm guessing a high percentage of their rostered players last year were not even drafted. At any rate, I wasn't suggesting Georgia would beat the Texans on a regular basis, only that they would be able to hold their own against lower-rung NFL teams and wouldn't be drubbed 60-7, or whatever it was you said. Georgia would not be over-matched physically, that's for sure.
  13. I was waiting for someone to tell me that I am failing to account for the amazing coaching advantage the Texans would have over the Bulldogs, owing to the brilliance of David Cully and Lovie Smith...
  14. K Allen has been in the league for six years and has shown pretty good back-up QB ability during that time. I don't think that all goes out the window based on a few series in a pre-season game with a new team...seems like an over-reaction, although admittedly I did not see the game.
  15. Admittedly, the evidence in the documentary was pretty sparse, but it looks to me like Manziel is living with his parents, still hanging around with enablers, and still drinking. He was seemingly honest about the things he did in his past, but seems unrepentant and blames a lot of his problems on the NCAA, A&M, the Browns, etc...
  16. Good post, but I strongly disagree with the bolded. While Manziel appeared to be candid, I saw no evidence that he has mended his ways or is prepared to re-join society as a functioning adult.
  17. LOL...Georgia probably had 25 guys on the field who have been or will be selected in the first 4 rounds of the NFL draft, including at least 10 first round picks...and they had a QB at least as good as Houston's. The fact that Jonny Football flamed out in the Factory of Sadness, because he wanted nothing to do with pro football, has absolutely zero to do with any hypothetical Georgia v. Texans matchup.
  18. Lance was one of the first beneficiaries (and Niners the first victims) of the Josh Allen Effect. Colts might be next…
  19. Agreed. Guy was an absolute disaster waiting to happen and a lot of people at Texas A&M had to know it…Shows what a bad organization the Browns were.
  20. Not to mention Zack Moss…
  21. In the words of the great Hollywood Henderson, Bradshaw couldn't spell "cat" if you spotted him the "c" and the "a"...
  22. Thank you for this important message. Who is "Meyers"? If you are thinking of Jakobi Meyers, I don't think he was draft-eligible this year.
