  1. There is no need. If Hines was not negligent then there would be no reduction. The fact that he was moving (if in fact he was) would not automatically make him negligent. Period.
  2. It is my understanding that because Hines suffered a “non-football injury”, the Bills have the right to terminate his contract and pay him nothing. Whether they have exercised that right is a different matter. I have not heard, one way or the other. Sorry, that is not how it works.
  3. Agreed. The Lions are a dink and dunk offense that is not going to scare anyone. They remind me of last year's Chargers. They need to get Jamison Williams back and figure out a way to use Gibbs in the passing game or they are going nowhere.
  4. Agreed. Detroit looks to me like a middle-tier NFC team...certainly the sort of team any KC fan would have chalked up as a home W before the season started. Their margin for error just got a little narrower...
  5. I don't recall any easy interceptions that were missed by the Detroit DBs, but I don't doubt that there were one or two. That happens pretty much every game to pretty much every QB.
  6. It was only one game and it probably doesn't tell us that much about either team. The bottom line is, if Toney only drops one ball instead of four, the Chiefs win easily and everyone's talking about what a magician Mahomes is, being able to win without Kelce and without any great WRs.
  7. I don’t think it’s a trend. The teams you’ve mentioned all lack a great passing quarterback…they are trying to make a virtue of necessity by using expensive assets on their running games. I don’t think it’s a formula for long-term success and those teams are not going to consistently beat teams like KC, Buffalo, Cincinnati and the Eagles, who have high level passing games. As for the Lions, I am not a fan of their draft, as much as I like Gibbs and Laporta. They had four top-45 picks, including 6 overall, and didn’t come away with a single player at a premium position, despite their crying need at CB and, IMO, WR. The guys they selected will make an impact this year, but it was poor team-building.
  8. C’mon, the Lions’ offense scored 14 points against an OK defense missing by far its best player. They had two good drives the whole game. Gibbs is a serious weapon, but he played less than half the snaps and the Lions hardly controlled the game with the run. I think the game showed how limited the Lions offense is without a field-stretching WR…they badly need Jameson Williams back.
  9. I thought Mahomes was outstanding last night. He played more than well-enough to win that game.
  10. The Chiefs are going to have to figure out what to do with Taylor at right tackle, too. I know Hutchinson is a good player but that was embarrassing. Some officiating crews would have flagged him every play. Teams are really going to try to exploit him.
  11. As I recall, there were several really good WRs on the board when they took Moore. We can be thankful that, outside of Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs WR drafting has been downright lousy.
  12. How is Gibbs not on the field on 4th and 2?
  13. Gibbs should not come off the field
  14. You know Detroit is going to find a way to lose…
  15. Gotta love the NFL…a team can look completely comatose and the game seems to be over, and five minutes later they’re in the lead.
  16. Anyone want to bet that Chris Jones ends his holdout before the Chiefs’ next game?
  17. This Detroit offense is not as advertised. They suck.
  18. The term “hair on fire” comes to mind.
  19. There was no one near him and he’s a really good return man. Ever look at the shape of a football? They take funny bounces all the time.
