Correct. The league is not declining in any objective sense. Ratings and attendance are higher than ever and the caliber of the athletes is as high or higher than ever, especially with the rise of mobile quarterbacks and the migration of the best athletes in the league to wide receiver. i do think the decline in youth football participation, although it is regional in nature, poses a real threat in that the talent pool is shrinking and less youth participation could mean fewer future fans. I think this is an important reason the league is trying to expand internationally.

The Jets want to be a very good team. Right now they are mediocre at best, and if you told me they stink, I wouldn't disagree.

The bolded is absolutely not the case. Cooper had a career year last year, at age 29. Most observers attribute his slow start this year to the fact that he's been receiving passes from the worst starting quarterback in the NFL.

And yet Amari Cooper had the best statistical year of his career in 2023…1250 yards on nearly 18 YPC.
