Glazer: Bills are still in market for a WR

He’s talented, but he’s played his entire career with an organization that has been devoid of competent QBs and coaches. -
Glazer: Bills are still in market for a WR
mannc replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absent a stunning act of thievery, like getting Julio Jones for a second, I've soured on the idea of giving up anything higher than a fourth for WR at this point. Much as we are in need of talent at the skill positions, It's pretty clear that this team is not one receiver away for competing for the AFC championship. I think it's a sellers' market right now, and the buyers are getting fleeced (a second for Sanu????). It's too bad this problem wasn't addressed in April, but it's too late now. We need to save our draft picks and hope we can put together a credible offense next year. -
What “things considered”? These guys took over a .500 operation, this is year 3, and we have an almost unbelievably easy schedule in a weakling conference. I’m not seeing the “great achievement “.

Jets trade Leonard Williams to Giants

Bills 2015 draft is long gone....and it was awful. -
You correctly state that a collapse is unlikely with this schedule. But if this team somehow goes 2-7 the rest of the way, then yes, McDermott should be in trouble. 7-9 vs. this schedule is really more like 4-12 or 5-11 in any other year.

Try throwing Gardner Minshew in there...I know, he is a 2019 draftee

Look on the bright side: Now we don’t have to worry about Daboll being poached by the Redskins, especially after they get a closeup look at our popgun offense this coming Sunday. -
Do the Bills ignore WR in the draft again next year?

I’m not sure about this, but I don’t think we’ve had a pro bowl TE in the 60 year history of the franchise. Think about the odds of that... -

I could be wrong, but I don’t think Singletary will ever be a real no. 1 RB in the NFL. Unfortunate for third round pick. -

mannc replied to Troll Toll's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There were a bunch of impact WRs available in round 2 this year, and we ignored them. Meanwhile, we have zero offensive weapons. Zero. Not one guy who defenses have to worry about. In the last 3 yrs, we’ve drafted one WR before round 6: Zay Jones. KC already had Tyreek Hill, Kelce, and Sammy Watkins, but they still pulled the trigger on Mecole Hardman in round 2. -

Funny how even journeyman QBs can look good when they have playmakers to throw to. The Bills might think about that sometime. -

I’ve seen a lot of chiefs games on the past three years and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Tyreek Hill drop a ball he should have caught. People talk about his speed and elusiveness, but I don’t hear people talk about what great hands he has. -
A Few Thoughts about the Eagles Game, in no particular order
mannc replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. And people were actually suggesting this week that we should trade 2 first round picks for a 31 year old defensive player. And let’s not forget, the Eagles are a pretty bad defense. As is Miami, of course. -

What’s not realistic? 10 wins against inarguably the easiest schedule in the league? -

Yeah, I’m just so sick of watching an offense with literally zero playmakers. It’s just depressing. -

They have the weakest schedule imaginable. The Bills might very well play only three games against teams with winning records. As I said, 10-6 is barely acceptable. -

I think there is a bit of a drop off from Pat Mahomes to Matt Moore. -

There are zero slam dunks on our schedule. We have a bottom of the barrel offense that’s going to cause us to struggle to beat even poor teams like Miami, Washington and the Jests. We should still win 10 games, but we’ll have fight and scrap every week in order to get there. -

Doable? 9 wins would be totally unacceptable at this point. With this schedule, 10 is barely acceptable, after starting 5-1. -

Good teams/Bad teams and Points
mannc replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Excellent post. The fact is, with the Bills’ defense (and with a less than dynamic offense) the Bills aren’t engineered to blow teams out. When they get a two or three possession lead, McDermott grinds the clock and makes the other team earn every yard and every point. As fans, we don’t always like that approach, but since he’s become the coach, the Bills haven’t blown a significant lead. I don’t understand why anyone is picking the Eagles this week. The Bills are at home and they just look like a superior team in almost every area, especially on defense. Some people might point to the Miami game, where the Bills struggled against a team that also appeared to be inferior in every area, but I’m pretty sure we won that game.
