  1. Aaron Donald was fifty times as productive as this guy, against better competition as well. No comparison.
  2. You’ve said that Tremaine Edmunds’s relative youth doesn’t make him a better prospect than other, older LBs. Why does Wilkins being a little older than other DL prospects count against him?
  3. Agreed. Coaching matters a lot in the NFL and Belichick is head and shoulders above anyone in the AFC East. The Pats have already started adapting to life after Brady, with their new emphasis on becoming a dominant running team. I fear they are going to make the transition to a post-Brady world without much difficulty.
  4. The more I learn about Wilkins, the more I like him. I'm calling it right now: He's going to be the Bills' first round pick this year.
  5. I'm not sure why you think Wilkins's ceiling is relatively low. He really athletic and versatile. I'm not a big fan of drafting an interior lineman this high, but if the Bills feel Wilkins can be highly disruptive (like he was against 'Bama), I'm fine with it. He could also be taken after a trade back.
  6. Yep. Very mature guy; instant starter and contributor. Reminds me of a DL version of Tre White coming out of LSU.
  7. I'll take the guy who's a natural leader, excelled against top competition and had one of the best games of his career on the biggest stage against a team loaded with NFL talent instead of a hyped-up guy who had a mediocre year in the American Athletic Conference while bickering with his coach. I'd bet that McDermott and Beane feel the same way.
  8. Wow. Guy looks like a clone of Kareem Hunt. I’d take him in the 3d without batting an eye.
  9. If we we go DL, I’m hoping it will be Christian Wilkins. Really disruptive and versatile, four-year starter (got his degeee in less than three years), recognized as a gym rat and a leader. Reminds me of a DL version of Tre White coming out of LSU. Greatly prefer him to Oliver. Wilkins might even be available after a modest trade back.
  10. I think people are overthinking this. Obviously, you don't absolutely have to have a top three receiver to be successful. But the better your receivers (including TE and RB, by the way), the better chance your QB has to be successful. A great wideout with elite speed like Tyreek Hill opens up the entire offense for the Chiefs and creates opportunities for other receivers and the running game. It's not really debatable. That doesn't guaranty your team is going to the Super Bowl (you still need a QB, and lots of other parts, including a defense), but having a top wideout definitely helps. But if the argument is that you shouldn't trade multiple number 1 picks for someone you hope will become an elite WR, then I wouldn't disagree. FWIW, I seem to recall that a WR was the Super Bowl MVP this year.
  11. One thing I’m sure of after all these FA signings is that the Bills will not be drafting 10 players this year. I think Beane will try to drop back 5-10 slots in the first to secure an extra second round pick, and then package later round picks to move up for more picks in rounds 2-4.
  12. Yes, lord knows we would have no use for a 26-year old RB who has the MOST YARDS FROM SCRIMMAGE PER GAME OF ANY RB IN NFL HISTORY.
  13. Once again I ask you, who is making stuff up here? The agents? SI? SI has a very good reputation; why would they put that at risk for a few clicks? Now the agents might be poorly informed and basing their opinions on outdated information, but that’s an entirely different issue.
  14. Actually, anonymous sources are widely used and not frowned upon, so long as certain journalistic standards are maintained. The most important media stories of the past century were based in large part on anonymous sources. Are you suggesting that the anonymous agents are making stuff up about NFL teams “for clicks” or that Sports Illustrated is making everything up and there are no sources? Either way, your strange little conspiracy theory makes zero sense, but that’s America today, i guess.
  15. None of those places did particularly well in the survey either. Let’s face it, if this survey is any indication, weather and glamor are far and away the biggest factors.
  16. Why would they “make **** up”? What possible motive would there be?
