That's what makes it a tough case; it would be hard to argue that the Dolphins have been trading away their players without recouping fair value. The problem is that the value won't be realized until the future and in the meantime, there are 53 guys who have to take the field every week for the next three months.

This was inevitable. I don't think there has ever been a tank-job like this in the NFL. And unlike in basketball and baseball, people can really get hurt. These guys are literally putting their bodies (and even their lives) on the line every single week and going out there against vastly superior opponents can be downright dangerous. It's the wrong thing to do and I think this might be something the Dolphins franchise never recovers from.

Our pass rush is pretty good, and there is a growing school of thought around the league that top notch cover guys are more valuable than pass rushers because top offenses are able to neutralize the pass rush. Not saying I necessarily agree, but it seems true of NE.

No. The Bengals are a garbage organization. They delivered multiple dirty hits against the Bills when we lost to them in Cinci a couple years ago. A late hit to the back of Clay’s knee stands out in my mind.

The Giants aren’t doing it for this year. They are going nowhere in 2019, with or without Eli, so get Jones some experience and maybe deal Eli for a draft pick...it’s the right move.

Wonder why the Stillers didn't trade for Ramsey instead of Fitzpatrick...maybe asking price was too high, or maybe deal with Dolphins was already done before it was known that Ramsey was on the market. I don't think J-ville gets more than a first for Ramsey, given his baggage.

Jacksonville makes sense. They still have a great defense and Eli could start right away and make them a contender. I think Pittsburgh has some belief in Mason Rudolph and want to see what he's got. They didn't look very good even with Big Ben, so I don't think Eli puts them over the top...

You're including the Houston game last year, where he started but didn't finish because of injury. So he's actually got 4 fourth quarter game-winning drives in 12 starts. Why do intelligent people do this? Drives me crazy...

I don't know if Eli has a no-trade clause in his contract, but I'm pretty sure he'd retire before he goes to the Jets to play a game or two and then back up Sam Darnold, or Pittsburgh to sit behind Mason Rudolph. Same with him going to Green Bay or Chicago to back up Rogers or Trubisky.

It wouldn’t help. The Phish already have first overall locked up; now they are just going for quantity. That’s the thing: Miami is clearly tanking, but the haul they are receiving for these players is tough to argue with. I mean, who wouldn’t trade Tunsil and Stills for what the Texans offered them?

Please...this is a ridiculous criticism. The Jets had near zero chance to win kicking a FG there. Just hand the ball to Bell on third and fourth down and they probably end up scoring a TD on that drive.
