  1. I never said the Bills were a better team that day or that season. I was disputing your revisionist story that they were badly outplayed in that game. They weren’t.
  2. Yes, let’s spend more first round picks on the defense. Great idea.
  3. How were the Bills “outclassed” by a team that they outgained and out-scored until the last play of the game? I agree with your take on the lateral, BTW. It would have been wrong to overrule the call on the field. It would have gone down in history as a travesty, and rightly so.
  4. Wrong. The Bills’ defense was outstanding. They held a very good Titans offense to 13 points and under 200 total yards on the road. I maintain that was the best defense in Bills’ history (although I think this year’s D could end up surpassing them). Sure, the offense struggled, but the Titans had a great defense, too. It was a heavyweight fight between two great defenses. Nothing in your write up supports your revisionist conclusion that the Bills sucked that day, or even that the better team won, although the latter is certainly possible. Would you say the Bills played “absolutely terribly” against NE last week? Of course not. Such a statement completely ignores an amazing defensive effort and the fact that the other team’s defense was outstanding as well.
  5. It’s been 20 years since I watched the game, but I just read your write up. I had totally forgotten that the Bills were blown out that day. Give me break...
  6. It was a fair question. If Zeurlein makes the kick, are you questioning Goff’s “clutch gene”?
  7. So Goff is responsible for the missed FG? What else was he supposed to do? That’s fine. The real issue was trading up for a projected guard in round 2 when Metcalf, Brown, McLaurin et al were available. We’ll get to see AJ Brown up close this weekend.
  8. Not a huge believer in Goff, but I have to say he looked great on those last few drives. He delivers the ball quickly, on-target and without fear. And Russell Wilson is a great touch passer. As good as anyone I’ve seen. really fun to watch these guys tonight
  9. This game is another dagger in the argument that Thursday Night Football sucks. Good matchup equals good football. Period.
  10. Goff is lucky he didn’t get taken off in a stretcher.
  11. Wow, Chris Carson (7th round) is a great back. I’d take him over Gurley.
  12. Of course, but the Seahawks now have a war on their hands when they could have easily broken the game wide open.
  13. That is looking like a pivotal decision in the game. The Rams are all of a sudden on a roll when they could have been left for dead...
  14. No, it was a bad decision the second he made it. Even he makes the FG, they’re giving the ball back to LA with a ton of time. And as we all know, 50 YD FGs aren’t chip shots.
  15. Carroll is the second best coach in the league, but that was an awful decision to try that FG instead of going for the first down. They’ve got Chris Carson and Russ Wilson in the backfield and if they make the first the Rams don’t see the ball again and the Seahawks have a very good chance to blow the game wide open. Terrible call.
  16. I remember reading here that he sucked in college and was a combine warrior....
  17. I was skeptical. I was wrong. Great football player.
  18. I remember that too. It was the type of play where the RB typically beats the LB, and White is a tough guy to bring down. Great play by Milano.
  19. No, they don’t. They are elite now, as is NE, who also lack an elite pass rusher. (I would argue that Hughes is damn close to elite, in any event.). Have you not watched the past 4 games? Except that this defense gets more than it’s share of turnovers. And it’s no accident.
  20. You’re forgetting one other likely possibility....
