  1. Let’s face it: Even though the Bills have improved under McBeane, they have drafted poorly and it’s starting to show. Other than JA and Tre White, they have whiffed on all of their premium picks over the past three seasons. Oliver, Edwards, Epenesa, Ford...None of these guys are playing anywhere near their draft level, and these past few drafts have been loaded with big time players in the first two rounds. Josh’s progress and some good free agent pickups have hidden the problem, but this is suddenly a team without much talent on defense, despite using a ton of draft capital on that side of the ball. I mean, they didn’t even come close to sacking Tannehill tonight. This is not going to be an easy fix.
  2. Maybe we still have Tallywacker’s number...
  3. Different Bills team. These guys aren’t going to fall apart when something goes wrong. And more third and long conversions in that one drive than we had all last season.
  4. Talk to your elected officials
  5. I can just feel it. Lynn is going to kick a FG for the tie.
  6. Huge. Second only to QBs
  7. All-world catch
  8. Saints crazy if they don’t go for 2
  9. Agreed, but he's definitely ahead of where Josh was as a rookie, which is to be expected. He started for four years at a major program. Josh started for two years at Wyoming.
  10. And Lynn would still be trotting Tyrod out there if it had not been forced on him😃
  11. Herbert might not survive this game. Every pass play is a jailbreak...
  12. Only two QBs in the league who can make that play. That was ridiculous.
  13. That seems low, but I think It depends where on the field you are attempting it. I don't know exactly what the conversion rate is, but I'm sure it's significantly higher on 4th and 1 from the 20 than fourth and goal from the 1. Also, it goes up if you only need 1 foot instead of a full yard.
  14. No, the 98% did not refer just to the chance of stopping Seattle from scoring a TD. It referred to Minnesota’s chance of either picking up the first down (in which case game over) or failing to pick it up then preventing a Seattle TD.
  15. That not what the analytics said. Perfect example of a “straw man” argument.
  16. Great post. In retrospect, it might have been a better idea to extend the season to, say, 20 games and sprinkle extra byes in for each team, so that there are plenty of games every week, but built-in flexibility if games have to be made up. With only one bye per team, it’s probably too tight of a window...
  17. A poster up thread said that either decision by Zimmer would have been proper, and that seems to be the right way to look at it. Looked at another way, their odds of losing would have increased by 10 percent if they had kicked the FG.
  18. If you assume Seattle is going to score a TD when they get the ball back, then you simply have to go for it to end the game. Otherwise, you’re counting on stopping the 2-point conversion or winning in overtime, both of which are far less likely than picking up 6 inches for the first. I’m pretty sure analytics says you go for it there, but it’s probably a close call.
  19. Actually, it is by going for it that you give yourself two ways to win: (1) make the first down—game over, (2) keep the Seahawks from driving 95 yds for a TD—game over. I’d also be willing to bet that the odds of making the first down there aren’t much worse than missing the FG; the Vikings had been running it down their throats.
  20. It was the right move
  21. Vikings really missing Dalvin Cook...
  22. Pretty gutsy game by Cousins. He was getting zero pass protection, and managed to hang in there and make a ton of plays to get the lead back. And Thelin really is a good receiver. Impossible to cover and catches everything.
