  1. We should all hope that Rosen doesn't show enough this year to convince the Dolphins to trade out of the top draft pick in April, because they could make an absolute killing if they decide to do so. As bad as things are in Miami right now, it could turn around pretty quickly if the GM knows what he's doing.
  2. Wow, those are some big boy plays by #49, and that Ed Oliver hustle play was outstanding. Wonder how many other d-linemen would have called it good after getting knocked off his feet...
  3. Yeah, the concerning thing about Ford isn’t that he’s started off slow—that’s not unusual for a rookie O-lineman—but rather that he seems to be physically unsuited to play the position he was drafted to play. The didn’t move up to the 38th pick to draft a guard who is a converted OT.
  4. I’ve never heard anything negative about Metcalf (not Melcalfe) off the field. His dad was an NFL lineman, and from everything I’ve heard, he’s a really hard worker and a good guy. To my knowledge there were zero character red flags on him leading up to the draft...
  5. ‘99 defense also great. Love the Sam Cowart mention. And remember John Holocek? He was really good for a few years too. I really hope you didn’t sign up here just to make this ignorant post.
  6. I was thinking the exact same thing. It’s truly a no-brainer.
  7. I don’t think returning punts is very risky, from an injury perspective. Lots of teams over the years have had their best players do it, and do it well.
  8. I think Tre returned punts at LSU and as I recall, he was good at it. Hyde is a punt catcher.
  9. Two games vs Miami, one against the Skins, and one vs the Jests. That’s 8 right there. It would take a major catastrophe not to make it to 7.
  10. Not very funny or original. Your lame joke aside, I would say Marcel is infinitely more qualified than you are to weigh in on the subject at hand.
  11. Here is an article with some actual facts. For example, the Dolphins have 19 undrafted players on their roster and 15 players that were added to their roster after training camp began. In other words, it's not a roster with a lot of quality NFL talent. https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article235500782.html And here's another, with lots of former Alabama players weighing in. https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/11/23/can-alabama-beat-nfl-team-nick-saban-reggie-ragland-marcell-dareus-mark-ingram
  12. Well, I’ll agree that you’ve got reading comprehension issues.
  13. You refuted nothing that I said. Please don’t act like you did. Not many. But some, yes.
  14. That’s a straw man argument. Most Alabama starters are at least 21 years old. The ones who aren’t are truly exceptional.
  15. Yep. That was an NFL factory that might very well have been capable of competing with actual NFL teams.
  16. Alabama has very few true freshmen or sophomores who start and the ones who do are absolute freaks, like Jalen Waddle.
  17. I believ you're wrong about how many Tide players will make it in the league and/or become stars. GunnerBill has crunched the numbers and I think you would be surprised. This year's team probably has 10 starters who will be first or second round picks. The vast majority will stick in the league for a good while and there are probably multiple future stars there, as well.
  18. Look, I doubt that Alabama would beat even a below average NFL team, but I think there is near zero chance that they would be physically overmatched and blown out like many here suggest. I don't know when you played in the ACC, but teams like Alabama and Clemson didn't really exist 10 or 15 years ago. They are literally stacked with NFL talent. Almost every starter will play in the NFL in the next year or two. They aren't going to be embarrassed by a team like the Dolphins.
  19. Please. You're one of my favorite posters here, but that is a pathetic argument.
  20. Fine. Then how do you account for the many former Tide players in the NFL (such as Marcel Dareus) who say that Alabama would win a lot of games in the NFL? Are they just wrong? Who would know better than them?
  21. I've never said any such thing and it really doesn't matter anyway. The point is, the talent level at a school like Alabama or Clemson is probably higher than on the Dolphins. The Phins might beat them, but they definitely would not physically overwhelm them, as many here suggest.
