  1. That makes more sense. I’m not sure why the OP decided to throw Dalton into the mix.
  2. No one is talking about moving up. The discussion is about trading next year’s first for an early second this year.
  3. Why not? According to some reports, this is the deepest second round in a long time--20 or more players with first-round grades available. Wouldn't you rather have your pick of those guys--and have him in uniform for 2020--than have to wait for 2021, for a pick that will probably be at the tail end of the first round? The Bills could pick up two guys in this year's second round who would help the team immediately. It's not an idea that should be dismissed out of hand.
  4. Darrell Revis, but he was not taken in the top 5.
  5. You're not making sense. Why is it better to add one new starter this year and one next year, than two new starters this year? And why is it likely they will add a starter this year with pick 54, but not one with their second round pick next year?
  6. I don't think he's talking about trading 54 and next year's first for #38. He's talking about next years first for 38, and keeping 54 this year. That's a fair trade. I'm just not sure any teams picking early second this year would do it.
  7. But under the scenario posed by the OP, they are keeping 54 and trading next year's first for an early second this year. So theoretically, they are adding two starters this year.
  8. A first next year is the going rate for a second this year.
  9. He’s not talking about moving up. I think he’s talking about keeping 54 and buying one of the first 5 picks this afternoon. That’s a fair trade.
  10. OK. But what's wrong with adding an another starter this year? How do you think that would work?
  11. It's not a crazy idea, and the value is about right. You do it if there are guys you really like who are still on the board, you expect to draft late next year, and you aren't sold on the 2021 draft class (believe me, the Bills already have a pretty good idea what the 2021 class is going to look like). You don't do it if you have any serious doubt that Josh Allen is your franchise QB. Isn't that a good reason to want an extra premium pick this year?
  12. Look, there really isn't any debate that the Bills did not score enough points last season. The defense played about as well as you can expect a defense to play in this modern era, and it still wasn't good enough to beat good teams. Since they aren't about to replace the QB, the only solution is to give that QB better weapons, and one new WR isn't nearly enough.
  13. The funniest thing about this pick (other than the fact that it pretty much assures that this is Matt Patricia's last season in Detroit), is that there are plenty of scouts and experts who don't even consider Okudah the best CB in the draft. He's probably not fast enough to cover the faster receivers in the league one-on-one. For example, he had a difficult time against KJ Hamler from Penn State this year. There's a good chance he'll be another Denzel Ward.
  14. Again, with what? They aren’t going to trade their 3d and that wouldn’t be enough to move up more than 7 or 8 slots anyway.
  15. No way. They probably won’t even draft OL with a late round pick. They are deep there.
