Herbert has a ton of talent and a lot of great intangibles, but even at Oregon, he had a tendency to make inexplicably bad plays at key points in games. It was my one concern about him as a prospect...
It’s nice to be nitpicking calls that had no greater impact on the game than just requiring the Bills to run an extra play or two before assuming the Victory Formation...
Speaking of curious spots, what happened near the end of the game when JA ran a beautiful bootleg on 2nd and 10, had a wide open field and slid (to my eye) a yard or two past the first down marker, only to have the ball marked short of the first down?
Funny, that Eagles o-line, who everyone said was responsible for Wentz sucking, has not allowed a sack today, against arguably the best defense in the league.
Good report. What stands out to me is that, despite having some terrific weapons, Ben is averaging well under 6 YPA during these three games and clearly is not throwing the ball downfield with any real success. No wonder he wasn’t sacked...
I don’t think that’s a fair criticism of Simms. It’s a fact that the Niners are a top 10 defense, and that they shut down a Rams offense that has been pretty good this year. The fact that they beat them 4 times in a row doesn’t detract from that, especially since they are division rivals; the Rams should be better prepared for what the Niners throw at them on defense....And doesn’t your argument suggest McVay has a deep understanding of Shanahan’s playbook?
It’s more important that he have confidence in himself, and that seems to be improving every week. Most playoff teams have an above average kicker, so Bass’s development is huge for the Bills.
Jefferson is a top rookie of year candidate. No one in MN regrets the trade...But it was a good trade for Bills too. No guarantee they would have used the pick on JJ...
