  1. Brees no longer has an NFL arm. Time time hang ‘em up.
  2. I can’t recall a year when more teams are going into the off-season needing a QB. Easier to list the teams that don’t need one...
  3. Chris Simms’s draft analysis and predictions have been really solid. He’s especially good at identifying guys who are under the radar but will be good pros. And his QB analysis has been second to none.
  4. Kiper was correct about Josh Allen, when most were wrong. Don’t look now, but that’s Brandon Beane’s primary accomplishment as a GM, as well, and the reason he’s a GM of the year candidate instead of on the hot seat.
  5. No, i don’t think Darnold can play, but I won’t say it’s impossible for him to become a decent starting QB in the league eventually. I kinda doubt there will be much of a market for the 2nd overall pick once Lawrence is gone. Fields seems to be fading a bit as a prospect, but on the other hand, there are going to be a ton of QB-needy teams this year, so who knows..
  6. We are also seeing that Wentz does not have his head on straight...not being able to get rid of the ball, whining about getting benched when he’s been the worst starting QB in the league all year...Josh is far more mentally resilient than Wentz. I can say with confidence he’s not going to curl up in the fetal position like Wentz if he has a few bad games.
  7. He won’t. Wentz was never half as good as Allen is now. He was a media creation from the get-go.
  8. Yeah, I don’t think we know for sure yet whether Rosen can play. We pretty well know Darnold can’t, and SF (or wherever that team is now) is a place he might be able to succeed. I mean, why not throw him out there instead of Mullins or the other bum?
  9. Ryan Tannehill was never as bad as Carson Wentz is right now, but I admit, it's certainly possible that he can improve.
  10. Thanks. I have not watched much college football this year, and of course OSU has only played a handful of games.
  11. I understand that ownership is a problem there, but the fact remains that they had a good draft last year, they have a bunch of premium picks in the upcoming draft (including no worse than 2 overall), and they already have a decent defense. IMO, it's not inconceivable that they could have a Miami-like turnaround in 2021, if they hire the right coach. And isn't Justin Fields considered a really good QB prospect?
  12. Is Justin Fields no longer considered a top prospect? I thought he was being mentioned in the same conversation with Lawrence only a month or so ago. Why isn't he a solid consolation prize for the Jets? And anyway, how often does it turn out that the first QB taken in the draft turns out to be the best pro?
  13. I actually think the Jets job is pretty attractive and that they have a chance to be much better next year with competent coaching and a new QB. They had a very good draft last year and have lots of extra picks this year. A pretty good defense is already in place there... Carson Wentz is not going to save anyone. And neither is Sam Darnold.
  14. Ben looks like he’s ready to join Drew Brees in retirement. Another team in dire need of a QB next year.
  15. And many run-heavy teams, like Cleveland or the Ravens, don't use one back to shoulder the whole load.
  16. I think we are in agreement. An average or below average QB like Darnold or Lock or Wentz is rarely going to be his team's most valuable player because he's not really bringing much to the table and he's not helping them win games that they wouldn't win anyway with a backup. So yeah, QB is the most important position on the field, but not every QB is his team's MVP. I don't see any way a non-QB could win league MVP now, although I suppose maybe a totally dominant WR could make a case.
  17. Donald is the outstanding player on that team (although Jalen Ramsey can make a case, as well), but that doesn't make him the most valuable. The Rams still have a pretty good defense even without Donald. I don't know who the Rams' backup QB is, but you're probably right that Goff being out would sway the line more than Ramsey or Donald being out. If Goff's backup proves himself to be competent, that might not be the case. But yeah, I think it's absurd for anyone other than a QB to win Most Valuable Player. The only exception I can think of would be OJ Simpson in 1973, which is the type of anomaly that will never happen again. That year, Simpson had almost 2100 yards from scrimmage, while the Bills as a team passed for less than 1000 yards. He was their entire offense. Henry has nowhere near that sort of impact for the Titans, who have a good passing attack, as well.
  18. No. I said the Titans would have won the game earlier this year, either with or without Henry. I think if the Bills play the Titans in the playoffs, the Bills would be slight favorites, whether or not Henry plays. I think if Tannehill were out, the Bills would be prohibitive favorites in the playoff game.
  19. I think right now, the Bills would beat the Titans with or without Henry, but it would not be an easy game either way. Let's put it this way, what do you think would move the betting line more in a Titans-Bills matchup, Henry being out, or Tannehill being out? IMO, it's not even close; Tannehill out probably moves the line 6-7 points; Henry, maybe 1 or 2.
  20. Maybe, just maybe, when they are trailing, they don't run the ball as much...
  21. They would have had no trouble beating the Bills without him, the Josh Norman evisceration not withstanding...
  22. He’s had a great year, but his impact is minor compared to the top QBs. That’s just the way it is. Titans minus Henry are still a playoff team. The Chiefs and Bills without Mahomes/Allen are sub-.500.
