  1. Well, it’s kind of an unprecedented situation. Usually having a QB like Watson assures that you won’t be shopping for a new HC and/or GM, but O’Brian’s incompetence simply beggared belief. Do you doubt that Kraft would have consulted Brady if Belichick had suddenly retired a few years ago, or that KC would talk to Mahomes about the new coach if Andy Reid called it quits?
  2. It’s not that Watson isn’t worth the Lawrence pick—it’s that Jacksonville has tanked so hard to get it, they have to stay the course. The five or six fans they have left would mutiny if they don’t get Lawrence... Not even close. Donald is going to be 30 this year and has a huge contract. And the Rams’ first is 23 or 24 overall.
  3. The salary cap analysis here is spot on, but you are way off WRT what Watson would command in trade. Chase Young, straight up for Watson? Are you serious? It would cost Chase Young, a first and another high pick to even be in the conversation. And Tua and 3 overall? Again, not even close. It would take Tua, both ones this year, and another high pick. (Tua not worth much at this point) And the Giants would probably have to offer three number ones and Jones, who had very little value at this point. You’re right that most teams in the league should be interested, but not many have the ammunition to get it done. I’ve always thought the Jets made the most sense as a landing place. Darnold, both ones and a second might be enough...
  4. Ahh. Sorry. I thought Dillon was a late-rounder (that’s where he was projected to go). He won’t be there when the Bills pick, but I’d take Etienne in a heartbeat.
  5. Green Bay picked up Dillon in the sixth, I think... Unfortunately, we haven’t chosen very well at RB, but it’s an easy problem to fix.
  6. It’s not horrific value. He went a few picks before Taylor. And if you happened to see Taylor’s hands during the wild card game, you know why Reid didn’t want him over CEH. Those other backs are good too, but they aren’t necessarily better than CEH. (I thought you were going to mention Akers, who looks really good.) i don’t see him as a “wasted pick” just because a few other backs had somewhat better stats.
  7. Edwards-Helaire actually was the best back in the class, and I don’t think Andy Reid has any buyer’s remorse...he had a really good year before he got hurt and they’ve struggled to replace him. It was hardly a wasted pick. A luxury pick, perhaps...
  8. Yeah, it’s an absolutely fantastic matchup. I did not know CEH is supposed to be back on Sunday. How much did the Chiefs miss him while he was out?
  9. Well, I guess the Saints are out of the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes then...
  10. Not that simple...Baker and Murray are much cheaper than Watson and are viewed, rightly or wrongly, as franchise QBs by those teams. Arizona has built their whole team around Murray. The real problem is that I doubt Houston wants either one, at least not without multiple high picks thrown in. And yes, Watson is definitely top 5, although he’s behind Allen and Mahomes right now.
  11. Come on, that’s just silly. Neither the Browns nor Cards are trading their QBs. And Houston would have to be crazy to trade Watson for Mayfield, unless the Browns throw in at least two first round picks. I would not trade him for Murray, either. The most likely candidates are Jets and Dolphins, and the Phins probably aren’t ready to trade Tua yet (although they should).
  12. Rubbish. The Chiefs used their first round pick on Edwards-Helaire last year. It added a whole new element to their offense and they’ve struggled since he went out with an injury. I’m generally no fan of first round RBs, but I think the Bills are in a perfect position to draft one in the first in the upcoming draft, especially if they have a shot at a speed back like Etienne who can catch the ball out of the backfield.
  13. That's debatable. Herbert just broke a bunch of NFL rookie passing records, he's 6'6", and he's the only QB in the league who I think can match up athletically with Josh Allen. He won't be traded.
  14. There's about as much chance of the Chargers making that trade as there is Buffalo trading Allen straight up for Watson. It's simply unthinkable.
  15. Why would LA make that trade? Herbert's one of the very few QBs in the league who might be as good as Watson and he's on a cost-controlled contract for another three seasons.
  16. Not sure what kind of doctor this guy is, but this is a really good video. Now I think I finally understand what happened to him. Seems pretty unlikely he plays vs. the Bills.
  17. I've watched this 20 times, at full speed and slow speed, and I can't for the life of me figure out how he got concussed. Wilson didn't hit him with his helmet and it sure doesn't look like Mahomes's helmet even hit the turf...very strange.
  18. Everyone seems to disagree about whether this makes Watson a bad guy. Tired of arguing about that.... I'm interested to see where Watson goes and what the Texans are able to get for him. I have to think the Jets are a front runner because of the draft picks they can offer. I'd put the Dolphins right up there, too, except I doubt they are ready to move on from Tua just yet and I doubt Tua has much trade value at this point. I'm thinking Watson would cost both the Jets first round picks, Darnold, and another high pick this year or in the 2022 draft. I know they probably don't want to trade him to an AFC team, but no other teams have that much draft capital to offer in trade. I suppose SF is a possibility, but they would have to offer their first this year, plus someone like Nick Bosa, and maybe more. Really an unprecedented situation...Any other ideas on a possible NFC landing spot? Washington?
