As bad as things have looked recently, this is the type of game the Bills have consistently won, and won big, under McDermott…I think that will continue on Sunday.

Missed tackles are a symptom…the cause is smaller, slower, athletically inferior players who get to the ball late and are physically out-manned when they do arrive…

I think it is also fair at this point to ask whether there is something about the defensive scheme, or possibly the type of players McDermott favors, that leads to higher injury rates. This defense is decimated with injuries year after year after year. We’re reaching the point where it’s hard to believe it’s just a coincidence.

I never said OSU would beat the Bills. I was responding to the ridiculous comment that OSU has only 10 NFL-caliber players in the current roster.

You don’t follow college football much, do you? Most of the guys on our practice squad would not come close to breaking into OSU’s starting lineup. It’s possible that every one of ISU’s starters will be drafted in the next three years. The top college teams these days have very few “future insurance salesmen” in the lineup.

They still play Denver twice, as well. Those games won’t be easy.

Dude, Ohio State probably has 30+ future NFL players on their roster. Every starter will either be drafted or signed as a UDFA in the next three years. They probably have 5-10 first round picks starting right now, and several others who are Frosh or Sophomores who aren’t playing yet.

That team is just bereft of talent as a result of being the worst drafting team in the NFL over the past decade.

If you really want to get depressed, go look at the Pats’ remaining schedule. I’m having a hard time finding more than 2 losses. I’ll be surprised if we win the AFCE. We suddenly look like about the sixth or seventh best team in the AFC.

In case you missed the game, the Bills’ defense was most certainly better than the offense on Monday…at least they adjusted, something unknown to Joe Brady. The Bills were in perfect position for a double-dip on Monday night, but offensive incompetence got in the way…

Defenses now know Josh is not going to run, and it takes away a huge advantage that we once had…

Yes, change is always accompanied by risk, but it’s becoming clearer every day that Beane/McDermott/Brady is never going to get this organization over the ultimate hump…with Josh Allen still in his prime, we have the wherewithal to attract the best of the best HC/GM/OC candidates, but that window won’t be open forever… The team has played well in only one game this year…yes, wins are what matters, but so does context. This team has not looked the part, and that is now being reflected in the standings. The panic is largely justified…

I have no doubt that Beane would have drafted Sam Darnold if given the opportunity…

We can expect Carolina (and every other team we play) to blitz us heavily, until Allen makes someone pay for it. He looked like a befuddled rookie last night. And I don’t know what happened to our pass protection…

Maybe some year we should get ahead of the curve, and acquire a speedy WR before the trade deadline, like, maybe in the offseason or something.
