  1. We are set at tackle; just gave big contracts to Williams and Dawkins. I’m not sure how anyone thinks adding an OT advances the cause at all. We need offensive and defensive playmakers to close the gap with KC. I have to believe the pick at 30 will be WR, CB, edge rushers Paye or Phillips if they fall or Etienne.
  2. That pick would do absolutely nothing to close the gap with the Chiefs. Hard pass.
  3. They probably should have traded Jimmy G before they traded up to the 3d overall pick. Now everyone knows they pretty much need to unload Garappolo.
  4. And Buffalo will trade Mitch Trubisky for a first round pick.
  5. We have two receivers who are over 30, one who was a fourth round pick last year, and another late round pick who spent the season on the IR. And of course there are always injuries. There would be plenty of snaps available in this offense this year for a dynamic rookie receiver like Dyami Brown, Kadarius Toney, etc...
  6. I don't understand...If WR "have become plug and play", then why would a WR we draft at 30 this year not "see the field in year 1"?
  7. No, that’s not what a character witness is. A character witness is someone who would testify that they’ve known the accused for some time and that he’s a great guy and would never do what he’s accused of. All these women could say is that they massaged Watson and he didn’t try to molest them. The downside of employing a character witness is that it opens the door to the other side introducing witnesses who will testify as to the accused’s bad character. That’s why it’s not often done... And in the court of public opinion, it’s an entirely different standard altogether...
  8. It helped the Bucs that in the Super Bowl the referees actually enforced the defensive pass interference and defensive holding rules, unlike in the Chiefs’ previous game.
  9. The only way to complete with KC is to keep adding weapons. As you point out, our WR room is hardly young, and even Diggs is going to turn 28 this season.
  10. Simms had Brown ranked number 3, and said the difference between him and the top 2 (Chase and Smith) is negligible. I’d be surprised if he’s available at 61.
  11. Yeah, it’s about all he’s got. I think next, Deshaun is going to being doing a lot of appearances at local churches, and various people in the community will come forward to “testify” as to what a great and selfless human he is...
  12. And I seem to recall that Tyreek Hill ran about a 4.25...
  13. I mean, there are probably millions of women in the greater Houston area whom Watson never groped or sexually assaulted...so there’s that. Obviously innocent...
  14. On the other hand, Chris Simms has him as WR 3, and views him as in the same category as Chase and Devonte Smith. Based on his track record, I’d side with Simms’s analysis.
  15. This is a strange twist. I can think of one reason for it: If he withholds the information from the police now, it gives the plaintiffs greater leverage in their negotiations with Watson’s team. Once the cat’s out of the bag and it becomes a law enforcement matter, the civil case gets harder to settle.
  16. This is the type of individual who ends up on the sex offender registry. No team in their right mind is trading for this guy and making him the face of their franchise.
  17. I'm starting to think there might be something to these wonderlic tests after all... https://www.al.com/sports/2017/04/nfl_draft_2017_deshaun_watsons.html
  18. Who knows, but I’m told teams in the AFC East are eager to trade for him nonetheless. They are playing the long game...
  19. And how is that a better outcome for the McNairs and the Texans than trading Watson to the NY Jets (or some other team) for 3 or 4 first round draft picks, which would also solve the problem of the $156 million contract?
  20. What’s your theory? That the McNairs paid off 20 or so otherwise law-abiding women to engage in a criminal conspiracy to extort Deshaun Watson, even knowing he’s rich and will be able to defend himself with the best lawyers in the country? And the motive would be to devalue their franchise’s prime asset...Makes perfect sense.
