  1. The real problem was using the pick on the wrong player...If we'd selected Evans, Mack, or Donald, no one would be talking about that extra first rounder we gave up...
  2. It’s neither selfish nor stupid for players to exercise their personal rights. I expect the union to get involved in this, if they haven’t already. It seems to me that some of the NFL’s rules regarding the different treatment of unvaccinated players may very well be subject to collective bargaining rather than unilateral league mandate, especially if the league’s rules have little medical justification. I’d say it’s a gray area.
  3. The general rule in every state is that civil cases are tried before a jury, but there are many exceptions, depending on the type of case. Divorce cases, for example, are usually tried before a judge, with no jury.
  4. Not in the Court of Public Opinion, which is highly relevant to this situation...
  5. I'm going to predict that this guy won't last any longer than the great Matt Patricia...
  6. The Saints didn’t have a QB last year either. Brees was running on fumes, but they were still pretty good. This won’t be an easy game.
  7. The existence of a serious criminal investigation (assuming there is one) would make settling the civil cases very complicated.
  8. Good. Too hot down there in early September. Will be much better to play them in December...
  9. This is laughable. Diggs is a very good receiver, of course, but he never had a year even approaching last year before. He benefitted enormously from the Josh Allen Effect...same with Beasley. It’s silly to argue that Jefferson would not have put up huge numbers in Buffalo last year. Guy is a beast.
  10. I think Tyrod’s gone downhill since then. He’s entirely capable of leading Houston to a 1-16 record. That organization is absolutely awful. David Cully?? Are you f-ing kidding me?
  11. I doubt the Pats make the playoffs, but I agree that there’s no way Belichick rolls Cam Newton out there for another season; he was putrid. It’s Mack Jones’s job to lose.
  12. Agreed. I think Jones is a slightly less athletic version of Joe Burrow.
  13. Since when was Terry Bradshaw's opinion worth anything? Hollywood Henderson had it right...
  14. I think drafting a guy who looks like a dominant LT is by itself a successful draft. And as you point out, Mims looked pretty good when he was out there. I would expect Davis to start this year.
  15. I agree that if Cam Newton is their QB and he plays anything like he did last year, they won't be a threat. I do believe Mac Jones can be a significant upgrade, though.
  16. Yeah, Mahomes factor aside, that was a really nice draft for the Bills. And didn't we get back some sort of late-round pick for Peterman? Or did we just cut him? It would have been nice if we had traded or pick 10 overall to someone outside the AFC, but I don't doubt that KC's offer was the best one we had on the table at time. As far as which team had the best draft, well, there's not much question that it was Kansas City. They got their QB for the next 15 years, long after Marshawn Lattimore and the other Saints draftees have hung up their cleats.
  17. Wow, the level of disrespect/arrogance shown in this thread is pretty amazing. From the dismissive tone of most of these posts, you'd think the Bills had just won their third Super Bowl in a row. Yes, we have the best QB in the division and a very solid roster, but this team is not invincible. Teams can get better (or worse) in a hurry in the NFL. Mac Jones and especially Zach Wilson are really good QB prospects. I know the gap between the Jets and the Bills seems enormous right now, but it looks like they just had a second strong draft in a row, and they have a new coach and a GM who appears to know what he's doing. Most of the negative comments about Zack Wilson (to the extent that they are based on anything at all) seem to relate to his physical appearance as opposed to anyone who's done any actual film study of the guy. And if the Pats can get even average quarterbacking from Jones/Newton they could be a problem this year. They still have a good defense and they are still a pretty well-coached team. Miami didn't suck last year and they undoubtedly got stronger. I don't think Tua has what it takes to become a top NFL QB, but he can improve, and if he does, the Dolphins will be a very tough out. Sure, the Bills are still the favorite in the division, but it's not certain to be a cake-walk.
  18. It also seemed to me at the time that Ryan had a pretty good plan to beat the Pats...
  19. I was super pumped when we hired Rex Ryan. True story.
  20. How the hell is this guy still on the board in the 6th? Seriously...
