  1. There were "generational talents" at RB that year.
  2. It's early, of course, but Greg Rousseau might become a very wealthy young man in a few years...
  3. Probably won't change result of the game, but that was a joke of a call. My god.
  4. All the talent Miami has accumulated recently (on both sides of the ball) and it’s all for naught because they picked the wrong QB. (I’m also starting to question Flores’s competence.) if they had Justin Herbert, they would be a very scary team.
  5. Mac Jones called for intentional grounding. Brady did get that called on him once in 20 years.
  6. He made some absolutely terrific throws on those two drives. Josh Allen-type throws.
  7. Fresno State is a good team. They took it to UCLA. The QB is for real and they have some serious weapons. That was a good win for Oregon.
  8. I never knew there were so many Bills fans here in Portland. Seems like more of a Seahawks town to me…
  9. Those instances you cited were, if I’m not mistaken, late in games when we were just trying to run the clock. NO did it in the first half, with the outcome very much in doubt. it opened things up for Jameis later. The problem is, we’re not a balanced offense. That’s fine when you’re playing against lower tier teams, but good teams will usually find a way to shut down one-dimensional offenses, no matter how good the QB is. And that goes double when the weather’s not great, like in the Ravens game.
  10. There was a series in the NO v Packers game where Sean Payton called seven straight rushing plays, including on 3d and 13 (when he knew he was going for it on 4th down). It led to a Saints TD. At the time, it was only 10-0, but it completely demoralized the Pack defense. I’d love to see that kind of commitment to the run from Daboll, at least once in a while, especially when we have the lead.
  11. I thought the same thing about the hold on Hughes. Where did you find the replay? I couldn’t find it…
  12. Lamar did not help his case for a mega-contract…
  13. If I never see Josh in another empty backfield, it will be too soon...
  14. Exactly. Those who are saying "hey, the defense only gave up 16 points in the game" are missing the point. In the first half, our defense stonewalled the Steelers and got a lot of pressure on Roethlisberger; in the second half, the Steelers moved the ball easily and scored pretty much every time they needed to. It was like two entirely different performances and the OP was right to question what went wrong in the second half. The difference in QB pressures was obvious to the naked eye.
  15. Agree with all this. This is the third game in a row, stretching back to the last two playoff games, that the offense was pretty much shut down. I’m kinda done with pass-only, empty backfield football; it doesn’t seem to be sustainable, especially against teams that can generate a pass rush with their front four. And I know it’s only one game, but the gap with KC seems to have widened.
