McDermott doesn’t lose to teams like the Giants and Pats. I’m counting those as wins right now.
-
It is effectively a punt. I don’t know how you can say it’s not.
-
The Bills have probably been healthier than the league average, going back to the beginning of last year.
-
Those three teams have lost a total of one game this year. They are clearly in a tier above the Bills. The Bills are good. If things go right, they probably beat Jacksonville 50 percent of the time…but that’s it.
-
I agree with everything you said. This is a playoff team, that will exit relatively early in the playoffs when they have to play a really good defense or another elite QB.
-
The Bills were soundly beaten despite getting two huge turnovers. It was a pathetic performance by the offense.
-
I consider the Jags to be a good, second-tier team, like the Bills. I’m not talking about losing the odd head scratcher to a bad team. Of course even the dominant teams will lose games now and then, but the Bills have played poorly in too many games lately, going back to the first Bengals game last year. Just not an elite team. The offense simply did not show up in both of the games against good defenses this year.
-
It’s more than just those two games…it goes back to last year too. What do you think is the solution?
-
The Chiefs beat Jacksonville on the road. Philly is 5-0. WTH are you talking about? The Chiefs beat the Jags, the team we just got embarrassed by, on the road. The Eagles are 5-0 and went to the Super Bowl last year. Two of the Bills’ three wins are against absolute tomato cans and they lost to Zack Wilson. The Bills are a second tier team.

Correct. There were no injuries on offense. We scored 7 non-garbage time points, punted on six straight possessions and lost a game where we had a two-turnover advantage (Josh’s arm punt wasn’t great but shouldn’t count as a turnover).

Many here do not want to admit it, but right now the Bills are not an elite team. The Chiefs, Niners and Eagles simply do not have games like yesterday and on opening night. The Bills are in the next group of teams (Dallas, Ravens, Miami, Seahawks), teams that can look really good (dominant even) some weeks, but cant sustain it against good teams. These teams will make the playoffs and win a playoff game, but they are not beating one of the elite teams in the playoffs. Unfortunately, that’s where we’re at and it won’t change until there are changes at the top. We’ve maxed out with the McDermott/Dorsey regime. But because so many people inside and out of the organization are satisfied with the team’s current status, the necessary change is unlikely to happen.

I envy you. Seriously.

Agree about the injuries…it really is tough to watch. What’s harder for me after a game like this is recognizing that the Bills are just not an elite team. The Eagles, Chiefs and Niners don’t have games like this (and the Jets game). We are in the next shelf down, along with the Cowboys, Seahawks, Ravens and Dolphins…good but flawed and not ready to go out and kick ass week in and week out, with no excuses. I realized today that this team will probably make the playoffs and maybe win a playoff game or two, but they aren’t going any farther. I’ve seen enough of the McDermott/Dorsey regime.

I didn't see it that way. And I'm inclined to give Diggs the benefit of the doubt; he's got great hands.
-
Fifth round of the draft?
-
I don’t think Diggs ever had possession. Could have gotten Calvin Ridley for nothing this offseason.
-
That play sucks, but Harris and Murray are north-south runners who rarely get stuffed for negative or no yards.
-
I don’t recall a Diggs drop…
-
I took the Vikes +5.5. Chiefs will squeak it out, like always
-
But it should
-
Well we can add the Bills’ “sports science” department to firing line…maybe just confine them to the Tower indefinitely, along with Dorsey
-
I think Harris and Murray need to be the primary RBs. Cook is nothing more than a change of pace back.
-
That was smooth

There’s a chance!

I don’t think he could have recovered it and stayed in bounds.
