  1. Wilson is not the worst bust, by a longshot. One thing to consider is that there weren't really any franchise QBs left on the board when the Jets picked him. Justin Fields looks promising, but he's got a long way to go. Lance looks like a bust and Mac Jones looks like a career backup. This isn't like the Browns taking Mayfield instead of Allen, or the Bears taking Trubisky (after trading up) instead of Watson or Mahomes. Also, the Jets didn't trade up for the opportunity to take Wilson. The Niners traded two number ones to move up to select Lance. The Jets traded three second round picks to move up to pick Darnold. The Rams gave up a ton of picks to move up for Goff, etc...And of course, Wilson's career is not over yet. He'll get another chance, and if he gets his head screwed on straight, he might actually see some success.
  2. I’ll admit, the Jets tonight don’t look like the same team that played the Bills…they’re going nowhere.
  3. So it’s all based on this game? The Jets beat us once and we beat them at home, in a close game. They are offensively limited, especially with White injured, but the Bills defense had plenty of problems with them. It’s starting to look like they are giving up on this season, though.
  4. I don’t want Bills to play the Jets in the playoffs. They are a pain in the ass and, I think, a bad matchup for us. I have similar feelings about Miami…
  5. Anyone seen the national TV maps for this weekend?
  6. I remember the Bills were pretty big underdogs in this game, and when they pulled off the win, I thought, “yes! This is finally our year!”
  7. Expect more of this, with the regular season being pushed deep into January…in the ‘70s, Christmas was the first round of the playoffs…
  8. Totally agree. Chargers have no real game-breakers on offense…just a dink and dunk attack. I’d love to see them in Buffalo in January.
  9. I've got a few problems with this. First, the Bills are unlikely to be able to get their hands on a top OT if they are drafting in the late 20s or 30s. Really good plug-and-play guards and centers, on the other hand, are frequently available at that part of the draft. Second, Spencer Brown has spent two years learning how to play tackle in the NFL and he has a lot of the tools you want in a right tackle...are you really going to move him to guard and break in another rookie at such an important and difficult position? Then there's the issue of whether Spencer Brown can even play guard in the NFL at 6'8", with a pretty significant injury history...
  10. I did not pay particular attention to Brown, but I thought the O-line as a whole had a very good game, especially in pass pro. As you point out, the strip sack by Phillips was really because Josh held the ball too long. I could not help noticing that Bradley Chubb was a complete non-factor. He lined up mostly on the Dolphins' right edge (against Dawkins) and he never even got a whiff of Josh. I could not be more delighted that the Dolphins traded a first round pick for this guy (and gave him a ton of money). He looks like a JAG.
  11. I’m very happy we did not trade for McCaffrey…our RB talent was never the problem, and we need those draft picks to bolster our OL and WR rooms…we’ll see what kind of return the Niners get on that trade after this season. I bet it’s not much.
  12. Sanchez is like a chihuahua on crack…
  13. Are you the guy who was touting the Farmers’ Almanac as a weather forecasting tool?
  14. I think the Bills have the edge because Josh seems to have shaken his mid-season slump (or just got healthy). When he’s playing like he did last night, the Bills can and will beat anyone. Frankly, I’d rather play the Chiefs than the Bengals.
  15. I heard some moron on the Bill Simmons podcast yesterday trying to explain why Burrow, Herbert and Lamar Jackson (!) are better than Josh Allen.
