4 Detroit Lions suspended for gambling violations
mannc replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Suspects are “cleared” by the police (and DAs) all the time, when they decline to bring charges or drop pending charges. You don’t need a “not guilty” verdict after a trial to be cleared of something. Quote from the DA in the Araiza case: "Ultimately, prosecutors determined it is clear the evidence does not support the filing of criminal charges and there is no path to a potential criminal conviction," the district attorney's office said in a statement. If that's not "cleared", I don't know what is. -
I think a stupid team did this recently....oh yeah, the Dolphins.

Trading out Bijan Robinson for James Cook, which is what you'd be doing, would net the Bills precisely zero.

The undeniable fact that the Giants should not have drafted Barkley at 2 overall has little or nothing to do with whether or not they needed a QB. (Of course they should have selected Josh Allen, but at the time, they were still committed to Eli.) If the Giants weren't going to take a QB themselves, they should have traded out of the pick with a team that wanted one of the QBs (like the Colts did that year, picking up three second round picks from the Jests to move from 3 to 6). Taking a RB at 2 overall is ALWAYS a mistake, not just when you need a QB.

Pathetic response, really. The Bruce Smith era was 30 or more years ago...essentially, not even the same organization. I doubt there is any organization who doesn't have someone on their roster who was involved in PEDs at some point. And of course, Araiza was never charged with a crime and, from what I understand, has essentially been exonerated. -

Funny how it's the bad organizations whose players always get caught up in this stuff... -
Draft Prospect Interviews with Bills - Post 'em here

Is he a safety or CB? -
Why not? (I actually think Washington is a possibility at 27 for the Bills.)

With the 34th Pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select O'Cyrus Torrence, G, Univ. of Florida. The Cardinals need to rebuild the trenches and Torrence is the top pure interior offensive lineman in the draft. He's a road-grader who never got overwhelmed by a defender, even against Jalen Carter. @BarleyNY and the Indianapolis Colts are on the clock.

What a horrible trade/draft pick for the 49ers, and yet, if Purdy turns into something better than Jimmy G, it will be a wash…

The thread titles are getting more and more bizarre every day... -
Third round pick, maybe. Late second, at most.

I have a feeling that Washington is a real consideration at 27...and I would not be against it.
-
How would they even know? Outside of running back, they never draft any offensive players…
-
Tyree Wilson isn’t lasting into the twenties. But I agree that this first round is less predictable than usual.

It would be awesome if Wright were available at 27 on April 27, but something tells me that ain't happening. That means there must be a few guys who we are mocking ahead of him who probably won't actually be gone before the Bills pick. Just looking at the list, I'd say those guys are Cam Smith, Michael Mayer, and maybe Myles Murphy. The other 23 seem like solid bets to be gone before we pick.

I think OBD would be thrilled with this result -

Run to the podium! -
Is Cousins tradeable? He’s still there…
-
Really? Why?

It's possible that Houston doesn't like Stroud, but if that's the case, they should be trading down with someone who does (assuming there is someone), not taking the top defender at 2 overall. If I was a Texans fan, I'd be apoplectic about the thought of having to live through another season of Davis Mills.
