I have not heard anyone mention this: Should we have tried to get Adonai Mitchell from Indy? They essentially gave him away to the Jets…I know Mitchell does some knuckleheaded things, but he’s got exactly the skill set we are looking for in our WR room and he’s got 2.5 years left on his rookie deal. It’s possible Indy would have refused to trade him to a potential rival like the Bills, but I’m guessing they would have unloaded him for a 4th. And it’s hard to imagine that the Jets would have refused two firsts for Sauce…

Why would you say that? There’s very little evidence that a punt return is more dangerous than any other touch. Over the years, lots of teams have had their best players return punts…

This trade means that Indy is all-in on Dan Jones, and plans to sign him to a big extension. I think that’s extremely risky.

The NE Patriots have shown how quickly a franchise can reverse its fortunes if they pick the right QB and the right coach. They should have been picking first overall in April, and now they have to be viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. There is no reason the Jets can’t do the same thing. Even after the trades, I think they have more talent on the roster than NE had last year. (The players they smartly acquired from Indy and Dallas are not nothing, either, and help fill out the roster.) For the record, I don’t think Aaron Glenn is anywhere near the coach that Vrabel is, and I’m not sure there is a Drake Maye in this draft, but the Jets have an excellent chance to pick first overall, so they will have the field to themselves. And if they don’t like this year’s QB crop, they can just amass more talent in 2026 and pick one next year. They are certainly in a much better position now than the Dolphins.

If Moore and Samuel are faster than Shaheed, then they certainly have not shown that on the field. Who cares what Samuel ran at Ohio State 6 years ago, in shorts? Shaheed never ran at the combine because of injury, but he could well be a sub-4.3 guy and it shows up on the field. He is also, undeniably, a great kick returner, which Moore and Samuel are not.

So which DL should the Bills have traded for, and who should be cut when Sanders and D. Jones come off the IR next week?

It’s pretty simple: That’s all we can afford. And we have two guys who are about to come off IR in a week or two…

Exactly. The Bills have invested heavily at this position and they are just going to have to hope that these guys step up. The NFL is a limited resource environment, and it’s not reasonable to expect Beane to keep pouring money and draft capital into this position group when we already have young guys who—for one reason or another—haven’t really even had a chance to contribute yet.

It is a limited resource league. You can’t have stars at every position, and every contender is relying on rookies and other unproven players to some extent. There’s no reason guys like Jackson, Sanders and Solomon can’t step up and do what’s necessary…the Bills have invested a lot in their D-line and it’s time to realize some return on that investment.

TJ Sanders was a high draft pick from an SEC school…it’s not unreasonable to expect an impact from him when he returns…same could be said of Jackson, I suppose…

Well, with the Seahawks’ picks received for Jamal Adams, they got Garrett Wilson and Alijah Vera-Tucker…not too shabby.

Chiefs’ board is full of their fans saying Reid was out-coached on Sunday. I thought McDermott had a very good day, including the decision to kick the FG, which had a better than 50/50 chance to end the game.
