  1. Brian Waters at RG for a year or two would make me very happy....
  2. Unmotivated? Even after being cut? I doubt that highly. I also think he should be able to drop 30-40 pounds by week 2 or 3 of the season, also long enough for him to learn our O. Only reason not to do this is cash, plain and simple......
  3. Is McKinnie still available? Even if out of shape, he should be able to work himself back into shape by week 3 or so....
  4. Same as it ever was.....
  5. RobGuy and one of the other posters backing him up (starts with a Z) wrote In a similar style and had no other posts in the last year. You make the call....
  6. Check their posting history--two of them have only posted in this thread during the past year. Just sayin'.....
  7. No, but was it just me, or was there a whiff of homoerotic vibe in that story.....
  8. Link? Source?
  9. Yup--unfortunately I think you're right here....
  10. Ding, ding, ding---we have a winner! Right you are, sir!
  11. Ever wonder if some of those guys may work for the team--as in trying to plant "rah, rah" ideas among the fans for an amazingly unpopular move? I wouldn't put it past them personally....
  12. It will be no better than a 4th, if that. No intention to cherry pick--I simply picked the first year where I thought you could make a judgment on the players chosen (i.e., more than 1-2 years out.) While 2006 may have been a decent year (more so than avg I'd wager), other years are nearly a complete wasteland. So we're going to get rid of someone who's played at a Pro Bowl level who has at least 2-3 good years left in him for someone who more likely than not is not going to make anywhere near his impact, and who probably has at least a 50% chance of never even starting in this League? That sounds like a real brilliant plan....
  13. So, you'd take 4th round pick (that's the best we'll get) for Evans? Just to get this straight. Did you peruse the list of 4th round picks from 2008 I posted? Maybe 2-3 out of about 40 picks were any good. I suspect that fully 30% are no longer in the League 4 years later..... Many thanks. Sometimes a player's impact doesn't show up in the stats. I think that this is such a case. For those who say this isn't about salary, I'd estimate that moving Evans will save the Bills at least $4m over two years, since he's due at least $5m over that time and we'll be filling his roster spot (don't even think that they will use this money on other FA's--they've shown us this year that that is not how they do) with a $500k per year player.....
  14. I agree with the first part of your post. Not so sure about the second...
  15. Not if they give us a 5th, like I suspect they will, since this may be more about money than the benefit of the team, I suspect....
  16. Much appreciated. This is my first year without visiting TC (sniff).....
  17. Nice to see that wasn't lost on everyone. We signed effectively no one. RT need--nope. TE need--nope. Depth--nope. Zero, zip, zilch, nada, in what was the biggest offseason in years due to the logjam last offseason because of the uncapped year's rules. What a joke....
  18. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2008/tracker#dt-tab-set-1:dt-by-round/round-4:round-4 Here you go--knock yourself out. Josh Siton's about the only guy on that list worth a darn.....
  19. You do realize that two years of Lee Evans' production is, statistically speaking, much more valuable than the career production of the average 4th round pick? Great--we can pick another Shawn Nelson perhaps?
  20. Yup--remember who he's had throwing him the ball the last few years when you consider his numbers. I've heard several GM-types (including Mike Lombardi) say that Lee is the "real deal" and draws lots of coverage that opens up everyone else. Looks like we'll find out the hard way. My prediction--if he goes to a team with a good O, he'll catch 60-70 balls, 7-8 TDs and about 1000 yards. Stevie J, meanwhile, will see his numbers drop 20-30%......
  21. Like who? There's no one left on the open market. I might have agreed with you if they'd made this move 2 weeks ago, but now it just looks like a salary dump to me. How are you supposed to keep fans engaged if you dump your better players? By the team this team is ready to win, they'll be in LA.....
  22. Russ, is that you? Saving Ralphie some cash?
