Job 2 will need to start with re-signing some of the current crop of starters, since we have (for us) a large number of FA's to re-sign (or not), including Bell, Urbik (RFA), Pears, Chandler and Johnson on O, the one unit that's been fairly decent this year. I'd bring all of them back (Hairston may be starting material on the right side next year, but Pears would be good for depth at least), but it's not my money. Once that's done, I say we still need a decent WR to pair with Stevie and at least 2 LB's and a DL-man for depth or to start. If they can do that, I'd agree that we'll be a much improved team next year. I figured we'd be 6-10 or 7-9, outside at 8-8, this year, but like the rest of us am still disappointed after the way the season started with such promise....

Fitz was NOT the reason we lost today--maybe if he some actual NFL-caliber receivers who can catch balls that hit them in the hands (two weeks in a row), we might have won both games....

That's what we get when we expect UDFA's and late round picks to man all the WR spots. Hit him right in the hands....

Moose--I think you're right about that. I know the Pats* played us 4 years in a row after their bye ending about 2-3 years ago, for example (odds of that occurring naturally? 1 in about 4000)....

Anyone else amazed by the parallels between this game and the SB between those teams?

While I agree that the Wilson INT and the no call on Burress were ridiculous calls, the Jets really didn't need any help from the officials today--they just manhandled the Bills at the point of attack all game long. If you can't get 4th and 3 inches, you don't deserve to win. Simple as that. Now let's go, G-Men!!!

Our D played like crap, but that call was a " but for" cause of our loss. First down on their 45 vs a punt is a huge difference....

Ask yourself a very simple question--if that garbage call wasn't made, do we lose this game? Personally, I say no we don't. The collapse at the end was bad, but it never comes to that if we get the first down WE EARNED on that play. How anyone could make that call is absolutely beyond me.

That BS call on Johnson's catch cost us this game--I hope Stevie says something about it during the press conference. That was just awful.....

Really? Do you know what you're talking about?! This is the same guy who took out Losman's knee intentionally a few years ago and then went on to be fined like 3 other times that same year, including for poking Brandon Jacobs in the eye (caught on film, BTW). He's toned it down the last few years, but that season alone he did enough to get a suspension and in fact went before Goodell (with his wife, no less) and didn't get suspended, but just warned, probably because he plays for the Pats*--anyone else would have been out for a while.....

What irked me about that one was they'd called holding on Wood the series before for a similar hook move. At least be consistent, but then again, look who we're playing...

Plus one--they have won so many games on garbage calls over the years that it will take years of karmic referee payback to even things out....

I was still nervous until the bitter end and Lindell hit the FG. Then I nearly wept.....
