Just heard on Sirius NFL radio that the League had a call with all officials last night regarding the proliferation of holding calls.
How WWE is that? Just when the Pats* are down two tackles and Brady’s complaining on Twitter about penalties.
You can’t make this stuff up.....
I noticed that, too, last night when I went to set my DVR. I suspect it has to do with the Giants being an NFC team (and normally on Fox), so the guide folks assumed the CBS game would be the Pats* game. Like you, I’m hoping they’re wrong.....
And as someone else replied to that comment, a white player, Riley Cooper, used the N word at a country music concert in a pretty derogatory fashion and then continued playing in the NFL for several years thereafter without any discipline. So there’s that.....
In the Blount case there were rumors of tampering (especially since he’d already played for them). Same back with Moss intentionally quitting on the Raiders to get moved there.
Anyone recall this happening repeatedly with other good teams? Anyone play their way off a team to hook up with Peyton, for example?
It did seem kind of quick and suspect in that right after his meltdown people were talking about him getting nothing more than a minimum deal. Now the Pats* suddenly sign him to a large deal similar in 2019 pay to the one he got ripped up. As YOLO noted above, all he’s basically doing is taking a chance that his play this year won’t get him a similar long term deal to replace his Raider deal.
Cheaters always seem to be cheating.
We’ll see. If he all of a sudden acts normal, for example.
At a certain point, these guys may not care as much about the $ as a chance to get a ring....
This is at least the 3rd similarly fishy move with these guys—most recently being Blount a few years back and of course Randy Moss a ways back. I’m sure I’m missing some....
This^^^^
I thought that penalties were supposed to get increasingly severe for each transgression? Then again, look no further than who he plays for.....
