Playing out the string Bills v jests 1st half thread

Bullock competing with Carp for "the kicker who gave the game away". "You missed an extra point? I'll see that and raise you a chip shot field goal".... -
Playing out the string Bills v jests 1st half thread
MattM replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not just for us, but in the League. This rule change may have really cost him his job. -
I think most college head coaches are a lot like US Senators, instead of each of them seeing themselves as President some day, the coaches see themselves as some day winning a Super Bowl. Good for Shaw if he's that rare college HC who doesn't want to become a pro coach. Too bad for us, but good for him. Between the location and the school/atmosphere, can't imagine too many better places to coach or live.

If Rex flames out next year, I wonder what it might take to pry Stanford's HC David Shaw out of Palo Alto. He's done a great job there, first for Harbaugh and then as HC the last few years. Would love to see the Bills take a look at him if (when?) Rex doesn't work out.....

Report: Peyton Manning linked to HGH, doping ring
MattM replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The statement about not failing any drug tests is spin for the rubes who don't know that the League doesn't test for HGH despite an agreement in the last CBA to do so. Stuff like that and hiring a flack like Fleischer in the first place don't incline me to believe Peyton, unfortunately. I'm not as cynical as many of those above who say "all these guys are doing it." Over the years it's been my experience that quite often cheaters are the ones who use that defense, perhaps as a way to make themselves feel better about their own actions. For those throwing Eric Woods' name around in that regard, you should remember that he was one of the guys yelling loudest asking for HGH testing a couple years back, so I doubt he's one of the guys using it. I also get a chuckle out of the folks above criticizing Al Jazeera--I'd wager mucho dinero that the combined time those guys have watched AJ is shorter than the time it takes the average guy to take a piss. -
Report: Peyton Manning linked to HGH, doping ring
MattM replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And if you think Alex Guerrero (he that the FTC apparently told to stop distributing "anti-cancer" drugs marketed on the back of a study that didn't exist) is just giving Tommy Boy "some ancient Chinese herbs", I've got a bridge to sell you..... -

I literally just went and threw up (admittedly I've been feeling nauseous all day, but this just put me over the edge), -

Just awful, so far. Looks like the D at least is running for the bus with 3 games left. -
The Pats are in bed with Lady's shady trainer
MattM replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And remember that Guerrero was the guy the FTC told to stop peddling a fake cancer treatment regimen on the basis of a supposed study that never actually existed. That came out a couple of months ago. So what else is new--more shady dealings by the Pats*. No one should be surprised at this point. And if he got a ringing endorsement from Junior Seau, what more could one ask for? -
Week 14 Bills at Eagles 2nd half thread
MattM replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Horrible penalties, horrible offensive play calling in the second half (including the last pick) and horrible execution on O ((also including that last play). A recipe for failure. -
Bills 30 for 30 "The Four Falls of Buffalo" to air Dec. 12
MattM replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm a couple of years older than you, so understand where you're coming from on this. In the '70's when I delivered the D&C on snowy mornings I used to fantasize about the OJ-led Bills in the Super Bowl. Never then did I imagine how much it might actually hurt to get there and lose like they did. What a ride, though! My wife asked last night "were those old teams really that good?" Yes, they were, which in some ways made it all the more painful. 8 HOFers and still didn't win it. Anyone know if this is available on DVD? Would make a great gift for many folks. -
Best/Worst Visiting Fan Experience

I know what you mean--my last Bills victory was the Carolina game 6 or 7 years ago! I'm starting to think the Bills will pay me to stay home..... -
Best/Worst Visiting Fan Experience
MattM replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been lucky enough to get to about half the stadiums in the League as the son half of father and son trips over the last 15 years. Favorites Green Bay Pittsburgh KC Oakland--friendly and knowledgeable old school fans Middle of the road Chicago New Orleans Denver Dallas (mainly based on size alone) Carolina Bottom NYJ/G Houston San Fran (candlestick) Philly (the Vet about 20 years ago) Jacksonville All rated purely on normal stadium game day. Had a great time at some of my least faves by visiting good friends there, the company elevating the experience, so to speak. Looking forward to trying to see the rest. -
Mario Williams a Buffalo Bill next year?

Correct, but has a high cap number, I believe, that the team would like to get down via a longer-term deal.... -
Eric Wood Nominated for Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year
MattM replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Was fortunate enough to meet him briefly his rookie year at a NYC Bills Backers party--seemed like a very nice guy, kind of just happy to be in the League and very gracious with the fans. Good to see him representing the Bills for this award. -
Robey Called for PI by the Same Crew as in London
MattM replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought both the Robey call and the Maclin push off were pretty bad calls today. It cheeses me off to no end when there's a late flag like the Robey call and they either can't or don't show a replay. -

NJ.com: Chip Kelly has lost team, might not be back
MattM replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What will Peter King write about now? Poor Peter loved Chip so much that he was literally running a weekly "Chip Kelly is the smartest man (other than my other mancrush Billy B.) in the NFL" piece in MMQB calked something like "the Chip Kelly Quote of the Week"....., -
