Listening to WGR post game is a waste of time
LancasterSteve replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know one thing...I'll never buy another car that doesn't have Sirius/XM radio installed. NFL radio is always very good IMHO plus any major sporting event is usually broadcast plus the wide range of music and news stations. John Murphy is OK most of the time and am happy that he is back on talk radio where he started many years ago on WBEN. John has always been really well liked by all at OBD and I never heard anything negative. Nothing phoney about John Butler; he loves what he is doing and enjoys bantering back and forth with fans during a Q&A sessions after some of our meetings in the press box or in either the Paul McGuire or Van Miller Clubs Chris Parker (The Bulldog) is a smart man that knows his sports and had a really nice show when he was on-air by himself; at first on WBEN. I believe it was 7 to 9 or 10. Then they paired him up with Schoop who feels sports reporting is beneath him and shows the world how much he hates doing a sports talk radio show. He has the Bully Pulpit and by GOD he is going to put all his peons (listeners) in their place because I have superior intelligence. Thank God that now I don't have to my ear-drums assulted by his self-centered blather. I can't for the life of me find out why once sharp sports guys like Simon (from WNAI ?? not sure that's correct) and the Bulldog from WBEN go over to WGR and become brain dead;- and start usuing language like my 11 year old niece -

IM disappointed, EJ just doesn't seem to have any pocket awareness. You either got it or you don't and its not something that can be taught. -

I caught that smirk also by Tomlin. Bush league on his part and IMHO not only should Tomlin incur a hefty fine but the Steelers Organization should be penalized next years first round draft choice. Cheating by any player or coach in the NFL must not be tolerated by the league office. Just like Belicheat, players and coaches will bend and break the rules until they get fined, suspensions handed out and teams loose draft choices.

[closed]14 years and counting

Don't hold your breath. No way in hades will Whaley draft a QB in the first round. He will not throw his mentor Buddy Nix who drafted EJM under the bus. Plus the Bills pay a rookie wage to Manuel for two more years and this makes the bean counters in the Motor City very happy. After the season I expect everyone from Russ Brandon on down to say that they are satisfied with Manuels play and that he is their QB going forward. And that will be that as far as quarterback for the Bills is concerned for the next two years. We haven't even seen the tip of the iceberg from the excuse machine yet. The Bills have perfected this for over 50 years. -
Ya he was plus EJ wsn't really known for having a strong arm but by golly Buddy Nix was determined to draft a quarterback. So he drafted one. He's gone and the Bills are left holding the bag of pretend NFL quality quarterbacks. If this kid can be coached up to passible (note I did not say good) do we even have the coaches to do this ?? The long list of "fails" continues at One Bills Drive.
-
YES !!!! Of course EJM is our quarterback You think Doug Whaley will admit a mistake and draft another QB before the 4th round ??? They are going to ride EJ's cheap rookie contract until it ends. Then draft another QB and ride that cheap rookie contract. This is Brandons quarterback model !!! Just think of all the cap space the Bills will have and all the money that he will save Ralph Wilson. That;s a lot of brownnie points for Brandon plus Detroit will send these  Brandon's way and maybe also give him a ham for running this team into the ground This is what we fans get Detroit "you suckers"

Jonathan Martin AWOL, Incognito suspended
LancasterSteve replied to uncle flap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why the hell did the Bills have this dirtbag on their team ?? I didn't like the move when the Bills signed Incognito because his psychopathic reputation was well known. When Incognito was released right at the end of the football season, I wondered if maybe something had happened in the Bills lockeroom. -
Problems with the wall?

Same thing here. After reading one post all the remaining topics and posts are marked as "read". And TSW did go whacky, like it burped yesterday -
They are both practice squad quarterbacks. It is Doug Whaley's job that the Bills have a competent backup quarterback and he missed on his evaluations. An undrafted free agent quarterback as your starter ??? Really ??? Whaley had a decent draft but to mishandle the back-up quarterback position is inexcusable. To assume that any quarterback can play a 16 game schedule injury free is really shortsighted.

Nine games played,we are looking at the draft
LancasterSteve replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Doug Whaley just drafted one in the first round. I'd say the chances of Whaley drafting a QB in the first round anytime soon is just about zero. -

There's a reason he didn't get drafted. This is on Doug Whaley for not having a competent back-up quarterback and we still don't know if Manual is the answer -

Well WGRZ listed the average high as 53 but you failed to mention the average low as 38. Average those two out and the average temperature is 40.5. The high tomorrow is projected to be 39 degrees and the projected low at 26 degrees but very little wind so that is a plus. WIVB: http://www.wivb.com/weather/forecast WGRZ: http://www.wgrz.com/weather/default.aspx Temp at 10:30 was 37 and that is in the ballpark of what the temperature will be at kickoff

Kansas City game pom poms
LancasterSteve replied to Niagara Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What a time it was in the early 90's. RWS was electric every game and those players on those great teams were the ones responsible for bringing in the fans. No gimmicks were needed. We had a excellent GM and great Coach. No gimmicks were needed. What have we been handed the last ten years; loosing teams and gimmicks !!! Bring in the clowns...we need more gimmicks Russ Brandon the marketing guy turned GM, turned De Facto president bellows from his perch for they will come for gimmicks regardless of the product on the field. And he is right, RWS is sold out every game so far. Screw putting a winning team on the field, we just need more gimmicks or leak a story about the Bills leaving and they will come. A different owner would have cleaned house a long time ago but any future change went out the window with Brandon now entrenched at the top. Bring in more clowns. -
That is true. Lake effect is more severe if there is a fair amount of open water. These can cause the usual snowfalls from a trace to 30+ inches. The worst blizzards however have come by having the accumulated snow on a frozen Lake Erie, blow off the lake to be deposited on land. This is exactly what happened with the blizzard of '77. I believe the actual snowfall was in the 3-4 inch range while the frozen Lake Erie was covered by 12+ inchs that the winds picked up and deposited on the City of Buffalo and the rest of Western New York. We were warned but no one realized what was to come. Any rest for me for the next 10 days was a rarity. Here is WBEN TV that forever defined WNY:
