As a Defending, Defending, Defending Division Champ with wins in all but 1 playoff year, ‘tough schedules’ are built into the mix assuring League parity and benefit. The OP is correct that this means nothing once the regular season begins. If you catch a Conference or non-conference Division in a woeful year, it can be 4-8 wins. Like the Rams & Titans last year, some power teams just fall off the map in 1 year. All the league can do is try to make things more difficult for great teams from last season and a little easier for -well, Cleveland..🤷♂️

Great stuff, Mikie2! Thank you!
-
That’s Great! We’ve been much better on the road than at home and we still win 13 games a year!
-
It IS believable and completely explained. Does it suck? Yes. No one is messing with us. It’s easily explained. 20-0 to win the SB

This is a phenomenal schedule! The absolute best that could have been imagined! I have to say, the NFL is Truly TRYING to help the Bills win the Super Bowl! No back to back road games? Very late Bye and before a critical game? Jets early? Cash in, Bills!

Fix the title

Just the skills these guys bring in conjunction with the skills we lost makes for big changes coming for the Bills this season. We’re being written off by some pundits as having missed our best opportunities, but this team will be different. Better? Worse? It remains to be seen, but I’m in. -as usual.

Absolutely ridiculous thread.

2023 offense has potential to be best in Bills history
Chandler#81 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I enjoy Bills optimism as much as the next fan, but I don’t share @Success views for this season. Not yet, anyway. Here’s why. #1 The AFC is absolutely loaded -as is our Division. We had an injury-ladened comeuppance last year and we showed we don’t have and can’t afford better quality backups. #2 Frazier is gone. Say what you will about bend don’t break, they were the failing aspect in the playoffs every year. Sean came through the ranks with 7 seasons under Jim Johnson with Philly until his untimely death, taking over for 1 year at DC. He claims this Defense will be much more aggressive, but the giant Eagle span is gone in the middle, so QBs will once again be fearless throwing over the middle. How are we going to be ‘aggressive’ with a stable of 1 year interior DL when we haven’t been for 4 years straight? Will another jarring hit to the neck shelf Hyde for another season -or his career? We have to seriously begin to address the Safety spot and frankly, Hamlin was unimpressive in his 1st year. #3 Dawkins is an over-rated tub of goo. Is he our best OLman? Allen makes them all seem serviceable but none are dominant. #4 We let our leading rusher over the past 4 seasons walk without even trying. Hines rarely saw the field sans STs. 4 different style RBs behind a convoluted OL? #5 Does Dorsey even know what a ‘F’ TE is? He never played with one, never coached one and never drew up a play for one. With just 1 season as OC, his play calling actually devolved over the season to ‘just let Josh be Josh’. A Bill Walsh he ain’t. #5 WNY weather. #6 Brit Williams leaving Josh on the day of the Cincy playoff game (allegedly) explains a lot about his performance. A 10 year+ intimate relationship doesn’t disappear immediately. Hell, she has his dog! I’m hopeful for the playoffs but I fear our best opportunity has slipped by with this group. Allen is young enough that we may still be able to re-invent another group to try again before he retires.. 🤷♂️ -
Are the Bills committed to Ed Oliver in 2023?
Chandler#81 replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
Committed? Well, there’s no ring. It’s platonic. They’re just good friends..🤷♂️ -
Another 1st time starter was at RT, where previous back up Howard ‘the House’ Ballard finally cracked the starting lineup. Later that season, he wiffed on a block at Indy and Kelly was injured and out for 3 games as a result. It was the beginning of the Bickering Bills, though Frank Reich would lead the team to 3 consecutive wins in Kelly’s absence. Also, Reed’s WR counter punch was Flip Johnson. Lofton would join the team later that year as the final piece to a great offense.

A true classic! Bills coming off a surprise season that ended in the Conference title game at Cincy. Thurman Thomas has wrested the starting RB from Robb Riddick -albeit via injury, but he would never relinquish it. Seesaw battle to the end -and What an Ending! Full game (sans final PAT) followed by The Jim Kelly Highlight Show with guest T.Thomas Good copy. Enjoy!

The whole family is rotten. I hope Patty loses endorsements over this. Then again, I hate cheifs. So.. 🤷♂️ -
97 mph IS reckless, but in semi-fairness, I’ve traveled at 90+ mph here in Florida and wasn’t passing anyone. Much wider lanes than NY and traveling fast is typical on highways. juss sayin’ 🤷♂️

And yet, he’s not as bad as his sister..🤷♂️ -
Jmo, but I think that game spelled the end of Leslie. He & Sean are close, but Sean had taken the D controls before and we had become very predictable on Defense. I expect true improvement on Defense this year. Spin it how you want, but I don’t think they ever intended to re-sign Edmunds - just couldn’t sit him. One thing for sure. The Defense will have only McDermott’s signature on it. Both he and Frazier made their bones as DCs. Sean just took his game higher with his HC opportunity. Again, my opinion alone.

Imo, our “respectable” running game is simply our Unicorn QB. Many of his “official “ rushing attempts start out as a passing play or RPO. We don’t have a true running game and haven’t since Allen’s 2nd season. Does it show up well in the stat sheet? Yes. But…
