Yep. Noticed that too. Very few penalties were called, as is playoff custom, but most that were went against the visiting team and were suspect at best..

I’ll get flamed for this, but I disagree with all these takes. Regardless of the inexplicable lust affair with a 27 year old journeyman WR, there’ve been plenty of reasons he was cut, then resigned and didn’t play much this season. That you use quotation marks on the blindside block penalty means the blame lies solely with officiating. Get in line for that one. Yes, there were certainly head-scratching strategy calls -by ALL the coaches, but Daboll is too easily the major target of Blame for the untrained eye. He’s an immensely experienced, successful OC and likely a near future HC. No schlep on a message board has any credence in this regard. I don't fault Milano/Neal for not bringing Watson down for our 7th Sack, though I certainly wish they could have. The guy is an amazingly talented player with all the ‘Want To’ of Allen. We’ve all stood agape at some of Josh’s Houdini escapes from excellent Defensive players grasp when the game has been on the line. Unfortunate? YouFarkinBetcha! But ‘Blame’? Nowhere near worthy.

From my perspective, during his post game presser, McDermott knew and was remorseful about the ridiculous 4th & 27 among other blunders he was individually responsible for. If he believes what he constantly preaches -and I think he does, then he’s never had a more specific ‘learning experience’ for himself than his decisions in this game. I, for one anyway, believe he’ll learn and change from this.

It seems fairly evident no matter who will/would have come through the AFC to the SB, they’d lose to one of 4 (5?) NFC teams then. Possible exception is Baltimore, but they’re a bit too flukey on Offense. To the OPs question, I don’t like the NFC as a rule, so I have no dog in the hunt.

1st thing I thought of watching the Pick 6. Whew! We don’t have much for a glory history, but I’d have hated to see THEM* earn that too. Thank you, Tennessee Titans!

Replay from the endzone clearly showed no one else was open. It basically was a punt on 2nd down.
