I think this perfectly sums it up for me as well. Couldn't have said it better.

Playoffs? Playoffs?? The Playoff Chances Thread

Yeah, like I edited above, it doesn't seem to matter if the Chiefs and Rams lose, as long as the Jets and Colts win... -
Playoffs? Playoffs?? The Playoff Chances Thread

That wasn't the question either. Thanks, though... Thanks! I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, but from what I can tell, it only depends on the Jets and Colts winning. It doesn't seem to have any effect if the Chiefs and Rams lose, as long as the Jets and Colts win. Ugh...go Jets and Colts! -
Playoffs? Playoffs?? The Playoff Chances Thread

...if we lose to the Pats*** this week, is there a scenario where we go into Week 17 knowing that if we beat the Fins we are in for sure (without any other help in Week 17)? Too many scenarios to keep track of this... -
Regardless of what we fans think, this front office is absolutely dead set on using those draft picks to move up and select a blue chipper. It would be cool if we didn't have to, but it's all about the QB. Hopefully they won't have to mortgage everything to get the guy they want, but that's why they collected all those picks.

So...I thought as of tonight Baltimore jumped past us into the #6 spot...?

This is a pretty depressing thread. -
Weird, I was just thinking of that SI cover the other day.

That’s a top one, but I’d say the Florence pick-6 against the Pats*** is right up there as well. Pure bedlam. i also think the Kelsey tip/INT against Romo on Monday night was just a phenomenal play that was just pure awesome.

I would not be surprised at this. -
Who do you want to start this week, Peterman or Taylor?

Trying to generate any measure of enthusiasm for either... -
2 Scenes From The Chess Game & I'm Unsure on Dennison

Nicely done. I think these examples are a great illustration of why constantly changing offensive coordinators can leave an offense spinning its wheels. Several seasons with the same coordinator can provide the necessary repetition and practice to reduce the number of errors or blown assignments. -
Dion Dawkins 2nd highest graded rookie OT
Rubes replied to SaviorPeterman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remember when we were talking about how Wood is injury prone and never stays on the field? Injuries happen, sometimes they linger throughout a season. Glenn will be back, and injuries may or may not be a problem down the line. But he's a damn good OT, no reason to get rid of him. We can have two. -
Hardly one of the worst. That Peterman game gets a lot of attention because of the INTs, of course, but the defense that day was historically bad. They weren't beating anyone with or without Tyrod. If you want to give McDermott the blame for fielding a defense that smelled like ass, then do so, but thinking that we would have won had Tyrod started is delusional considering how bad that defense was. I'm more pissed about the Jets game than I am the Chargers game.

Sunday: Face-To-Face with the Drought

It's a simple observation, I know. But at the same time, I don't care that much if we traded guys, dumped guys because of salary, got others to replace them by trade or FA. The point is that we used our top 3 picks on guys who for one reason or another -- poor talent, regime change, didn't fit the system, whatever -- aren't forming the core of this team. How many of those guys made huge contributions to the team before leaving? How many never found another starting job? How many went elsewhere and became long-term starters? No matter how you look at it, the draft has done far too little for us.

There is, but it's going to take a long time...

That is completely ridiculous. Like someone said, Nate knew it was a smack to his head and was going to be a penalty on SD by the way he reacted. Unbelievable.
-
So are you saying that's what happened? The ref picked up the flag?
-
I was watching with the sound off, and was in and out during the game, but on one of Peterman's interceptions it looked like he got smacked in the head by the Chargers defender, and the ref threw the flag. Looked like a clear unnecessary roughness penalty, so I figured the INT was coming back. Next I looked the Chargers were snapping the ball, so what happened? Did the ref pick up the flag? I sincerely hope not. If that happened to Tommy Boy the defender probably would have been ejected for life and the Pats*** given an automatic touchdown.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Ramblings of a Madman
Rubes replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When we let all those talented draft picks go, it seemed like genius when their cheap replacements were playing and producing almost as well. We had decent, cheap players who were learning how to win, and the future looked bright. Now that the bottom has fallen out, and those cheap players are showing their true value, we're finding that we have a huge talent void on the team with nobody to build around, and a grim future because we have to find all new talent and hope we get it all right. Man, it really sucks to be a Bills fan.
