  1. I really enjoyed reading that, Shaw. Nice work.
  2. One big difference is that with Allen it would actually make sense to call a bootleg on 4th and 1.
  3. Not the same as what? I don't follow.
  4. Same here, only it's my hip. Six months ago I was running and playing racquetball multiple times per week, now I can't do either. Injections help. Knee (and hip) replacements also are good options if you want to get back to some activity. My mother is 77 and just had her knee replaced six weeks ago. She's been walking around pretty easily for a few weeks now. In a couple of months she'll be almost normal. She won't be playing basketball or anything, but you can do a lot these days with joint replacements.
  5. Most here on this board, maybe.
  6. You may have noted that I didn't say he "is" incredible, but that he "can be".
  7. Pretty fascinating responses, thanks everyone. I'm not alone, I see! But the range of opinions is really interesting. Some say they'd only be happy with one of the top 4, but their top 4 is different than other people's. Some say they would despair with one particular guy, others say that's the guy they would target. Crazy! I will push back against those suggesting what I'm saying is that I'd be "happy to have someone". Never did I say I'd be happy with anyone. Just any of those top 6. They all appear to have significant upside to me, and I'd be excited to see any of them in a Bills uni. There are plenty of other QBs in this draft besides those 6, and it's not like I'd be happy with any of them.
  8. Lots of strong opinions out there on the top 6 QBs (Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, Allen, Jackson, and Rudolph), and I get that. Some people desperately want a certain guy, and cringe at the thought of us drafting others. Some would be ready to throw in the towel if we don't get one of the top 4, and would see this as a complete disaster if we end up with Jackson or Rudolph. Am I the only one who would be excited to have any one of those 6 QBs? Each has intriguing qualities and each has their weaknesses. Sure, a few of them stand out more than the others, but I think the potential ceilings of all of them are quite high. Jackson could be electric to watch (and I'm not in the camp that thinks he would be just another TT), Allen has all the tools, and Rudolph excels in many areas and could end up being an outstanding QB. That's a lot of 'potential', but that's everyone in the draft, right? I just feel like any of those 6 could be a franchise QB, and all of them have features that would make them exciting to watch. Not trying to be a homer, I just don't think any of them strike me the same way that JP or EJ did when they were drafted.
  9. It's only horrible if it turns out to not be worth it. I'm with Kirby, and I think Watkins does have elite talent. I think he can be an incredible WR, one of the best. Obviously he has some injury concerns, but I've never been someone who buys into the "injury-prone" label -- I think he's just been unlucky thus far. I don't think that bad luck will necessarily last. I also agree with Kirby that he hasn't been part of an offense yet that has made him the highlight and thrown to him in large numbers. If KC does that, I think you'll see his output at the same level. I can appreciate those who disagree with that, but I see features in his game that are unlike many others.
  10. It mainly has to do with when the contract is signed. Is Watkins worth more than AJ Green and Julio Jones? Not likely, but you have to ask when those guys had their contracts negotiated. If they were free agents *now*, you can be sure their value would be much higher. It's all about the timing.
  11. I know I'm in the minority, but I would be excited by just about any of the top 6 QBs. Obviously I'd like to see Darnold or Rosen, but if they can't move up and they end up with Jackson or Rudolph, I'd still be pretty excited to see how either one of those does. They all have intriguing upside, and I think any of those six can develop into an excellent QB. But yeah, I realize not everybody thinks that.
  12. Ended up going with this. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!
  13. I can safely say that I have no idea if any of these QBs will be any good or if I should be happy or pissed if we draft any of them.
  14. Sorry, it just got stuck somehow!
  15. Thanks! They do anything special for games, like transportation?
  16. My brother in law and his three buddies are coming to town for the Bears game Nov 4, staying overnight Sat and leaving after the game. I’d like to recommend a hotel for them but I have no idea what would be good. I think they’d like to stay somewhere that is near decent night life on Saturday but also not too far away from the stadium. Is downtown a good option? Are there places that offer party buses to the game? Any other considerations?
  17. I think I would be quite happy with this. I'm just not sure if the value of those top picks is much higher than it usually is, which means teams at those spots are going to demand much more than they might typically. When there are multiple QBs in play with multiple teams looking for one, the price just goes up and up.
  18. Gotta say, this is going to be an insane six weeks.
  19. I'm not sure I would go so far as to say the market has dried up one day into Free Agency. But I would definitely like to see us re-sign both of them.
  20. But he doesn’t have lots of sacks!
