  1. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/03/07/report-multiple-teams-have-interest-in-zach-ertz-with-trade-possible-in-coming-days/ 30-year old 3-time Pro Bowler coming off a down year. Set to make a base salary of $8.25 million next year. No mention of specific teams. Not sure if Beane would trade away picks for Ertz, but it's possible...
  2. A little weird that Marino didn't make the list, but I have no sense of his college career.
  3. I pretty much agree with this sentiment. Seems like a fairly reasonable contract for a guy with his skills, flexibility, and consistency, even if we could overall do better at that position.
  4. Which, I imagine, is why he has expressed his desire to stay in Buffalo. Avoid the risk that comes with FA and get a deal done now—probably a better deal than he'd get on the market. The Bills gets continuity, probably at some discount. The question is if the Bills think he's the best solution for the position and price. I think they like his versatility and will try to keep him at a reasonable price, and Feliciano will probably take it.
  5. I like Jenkins but I'm not thinking he makes it to 30.
  6. So sorry to hear that. All the best to you and your family.
  7. Honestly, I don't care what else they do with the rules, the only thing I want to see changed is no ties. Ever.
  8. Feels like there is a thread for this already...
  9. Man I can hardly express how much I dislike this idea.
  10. To be honest, if he wasn't coming to the Bills, that's probably as good a place as any. Not in the AFC, and probably buried somewhere in the NFC.
  11. Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but one of the guys on GMFB this morning said Watt had already received offers in the $15-16 mill per season range. Have to believe there's no way the Bills can afford that or would pay that.
  12. I don't recall seeing Beane grab the microphone from Mongo after he said that and yell "Your ass ain't going nowhere!!"
  13. My sense is that we were better with Morse and Feliciano in, rather than Morse and Winters or Feliciano and Winters. To me, Winters was the big problem solved when Feliciano came back. It's not that Feliciano or Morse specifically made the run game better, it was putting Winters on the bench that probably did it.
  14. Sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere in the thread, but doesn't Green Bay have a new defensive coordinator, and one who wasn't particularly inspiring? A new system with someone less than ideal might be a detractor.
  15. Is it really that obvious? I never felt very confident in our ability to run the ball no matter who was in there.
  16. What's a 100% ankle injury? Was it completely disintegrated or something?
  17. I think players who retire have the option of "refunding" the remaining part of their bonus in order to remove the cap hit, but of course players shouldn't be expected to do that. But if someone retired unexpectedly, especially right after signing a new contract with a big signing bonus, I could see why there would be some hard feelings about that.
  18. Not sure I'd be happy to see Williams leave and be replaced with (a) a cheaper FA, (b) a rookie, or (c) Ford. None of those sound very reassuring.
  19. For a team that is up against the cap and needs $$$ to upgrade both of the lines, it's not hard to imagine this coming. I love the guy, but as Yolo said, he's on the wrong side of 30, has had considerable injuries, and he costs a lot. Restructuring might be an option, but less likely for a guy his age.
  20. The three things we learned from the AFCCG: the OL didn't block very well, the DL didn't rush very well, and we desperately need a threat at TE. If we're to get over the hump and past the Chiefs, that's what needs to be fixed. McBeane knows it. Getting Ford back will help some with the OL, if he can stay healthy. I think Beane will want to get Williams back, and I think Morse stays put. Feliciano is valuable because of his versatility, but if you bring him back, too, then nothing has changed with the OL other than Ford. Will that be enough? Continuity is good, but those guys were not very good against the Chiefs. Something has to change for the better, but it's really tough to determine what or how much. If Star comes back, that will be a big help to the DL, but will that be enough? Probably not. They need people who can both keep blockers off of the LBs and rush the passer, and right now we don't have a lot of those. I think we'll see more action on this line during the offseason, it just depends on how much Beane can or wants to spend on the line. No idea what they're going to do about TE. Real good ones are few and far between.
  21. Top 10 most aggressive head coaches in today's NFL Pretty sure that score didn't include the AFCC game...
