  1. I actually think McDermott is a pretty good coach and I'm glad we have him. However, it's increasingly difficult to overlook that he hasn't had a signature win against a top team since he's been here, when plenty of other new coaches have. Even Flores in Miami somehow was able to beat the Pats**** in NE last year in a game that meant a lot to the Pats***, something McD has yet to do. It's concerning, I'll admit. That, and some of the worst defensive performances in this team's history have been with McD at the helm just over the past 3 years. I could understand it in his first year, but it's not acceptable now. I think he'll end up being an excellent coach, but he really needs to figure this thing out soon. I just don't know what to think of this defense anymore.
  2. She's plenty active on Twitter if you miss her that much.
  3. At this point I imagine the Jets want to get as much draft capital as possible to attract a new HC next year. Unfortunately for them, they're selling low.
  4. We were supposed to originally play today and the Chiefs on Thursday. If we learn today that the Titans game is cancelled and we play the Chiefs on Thursday, it would essentially be the same as originally planned in terms of prep for KC.
  5. Nice write up, thanks. One thing I’ve noticed over the years that other teams have done consistently, that the Bills just haven't been able to do, is to get a few spectacular catches from their WRs when they need them. I’ve seen so many other teams’ WRs make ridiculous catches and have wondered, why can’t we have that? And now we do. I mean, each of our top three WRs made spectacular catches today...Beasley with the crazy TD catch, Diggs with the contested deep catch, and Brown with that absurd catch that should’ve been a TD. All in one game! And we’re seeing it regularly, week after week, including from the rookie. Finally! QBs look a whole lot better when they have WRs who can regularly make plays like that, and we seem to have it in spades now.
  6. I deleted the fake tweet from my post, but it will still appear in the replies, FYI.
  7. Did I miss this posted already? *EDIT: fake tweet removed
  8. Can't imagine they would drop the only Thursday night game scheduled that day.
  9. One question about points expiring...how easy is it to keep track of things like [date of first points received] and [date of last points received]? If you can track that, then having them expire after X number of days since the last points received (I suggest 30 or 45) would be fine. I like the idea of a point system because it imposes a measure of consistency across different people, so some folks don't feel like they are being treated differently by different mods. I agree with others that the most points should be given for Abusive behavior (5), then Politics (3). Are you able to give points for both, such as when someone bring politics into a discussion in an abusive way?
  10. A couple of times...once in Glacier NP, a grizzly was climbing parallel to us as we were hiking up to one of the glaciers, but far enough away to not be a danger. Another time just a couple years ago in Tetons NP, wife and I almost walked into one near Jenny Lake. Think it was a smaller black bear. Ignored us, thankfully. I think we were about 30 feet away from it.
  11. I know this is a more humorous thread, but...
  12. I appreciate the post...I remember when Allen was the pick I wasn’t sure what to think...I wasn’t thrilled that he was more of a high-ceiling project QB...I was hoping for someone who wouldn’t take several years to develop, but knew he had a chance. So I was more wait and see...one thing I love about Josh is that he’s just so damn fun to watch, even when he’s frustrating...you never know what he’s going to end up doing on any particular play, it could be head scratching or it could be spectacular, but always exciting...
  13. You really couldn't have scripted a better start to the season for him. Hope he keeps it going.
  14. Woo hoo!! That's good to hear. Either or both could still be held out, but it looks promising. Love being proven wrong! Honestly, the ability of these guys to come back from injury is astonishing.
  15. My two takeaways from that awesome video: 1. I love Dawkins 2. WTF was up with Murph? Did he have indigestion that day or something? I always thought he was bad, but I can't imagine a radio announcer being any less enthusiastic about big plays from the team. The only one he got excited about was the Brown TD, the rest just sounded like "meh".
  16. Yeah, that's what I was referring to in that statement about prior threads. Didn't know if anyone would get it.
  17. Yeah, basically all opinions outside the organization on any issue are useless. So, hot take. Just giving you my opinion, not what I'd do if I was the coach. I know these guys play whenever they possibly can, and nobody is 100% once the season starts. But if there is any question about their health I'd say the prudent thing would be to hold them out this week, even though we'd all like to see them play.
  18. Fair point! We'll see. As I said, maybe they'll be healthy enough to play. I hope so... Why hold them out because it's the Dolphins, but not the Rams? Dolphins game is far more important (divisional game and AFC game).
  19. Awesome take, thanks. I know one has a shoulder injury that can impact tackling, and the other has a hamstring injury which tends to linger if it doesn't heal fully. So yeah, you do you.
  20. Having 4 excellent WRs on the field is a huge advantage. It forces the defense to have more DBs on the field, which is great because (a) most DBs can't cover these guys, and (b) it opens things up for the running game since there are likely fewer LBs on the field. That includes running by Josh. Once this offense gets comfortable (especially the OL), I expect to see a lot of this formation.
  21. Our defense was clearly weakened by the losses of Edmunds and Milano. Those two are essential and we don't have backups that can do what they do. We had no answer to Fitz (Fitz!) and the Dolphins attack, although at least part of that was probably due to heat and exhaustion. Nevertheless, we need those two back badly. Not this week, though. I don't expect to see either of them on the field against the Rams. It's possible Edmunds dresses, but I don't expect to see him play unless needed. Why? - Non-conference game, doesn't mean much (despite old prior threads) - Still in first place even if we lose - Still undefeated in the division and conference even if we lose - Brutal stretch of 5 consecutive AFC games coming up after (Raiders, Titans, Chiefs, Jets, Patriots) - Need them as healthy as possible for those five games, the AFC is at stake Unless they're both near 100%, give them time to rest and heal up. We're gonna need them much more in a couple of weeks.
  22. It's true any year, but this year in particular...whoever gets through the season with the fewest key injuries will be the last one standing.
  23. Fins had a LB spying on Allen all game, so running was less of an option. But the Bills were fine with that, because it left one less person back in coverage, and Allen picked them apart because of it.
  24. Honestly, I have no freaking idea what they were thinking. What the hell is wrong with some of these coaches? You call a run play there, you're more than likely to get the first down and seal the game; even if you don't, you force them to use one of their two remaining time outs. This isn't that hard.
