  1. Seriously, can we institute the 5-mississippi rule?
  2. Still a little surprised they moved Brown to LT last week. I would have thought maybe keep Brown at RT where he is comfortable, and move Williams over to LT since he has played there before.
  3. How about: in the final two minutes of each half, the offense gets to choose: spot foul, or 15 yard untimed penalty (ie, clock gets turned back to last play)?
  4. The play fake Allen did on the final 4th and 2 was a work of art. Why don't we do more of that? Would have loved to have seen that on the late 3rd and 2 against the Bucs.
  5. Honestly, I was a little surprised they moved him over to LT. I figured they might keep Brown in the RT spot he's comfortable at, and move Williams over to LT. Williams is not a great LT by any means, but he's played it before, IIRC. But who knows, maybe they were a little worried by a Ford-Brown right side, maybe.
  6. So many times over the years we've had big games come up against the Pats****....only to crap the bed. Not this time. Just give me this one.
  7. Probably, but we'll also hear all week about how big the next game is.
  8. I have faith in those two. Dawkins will get better with an offseason. Brown has the tools, he's still a rookie with only a few starts.
  9. I agree. I'd like to see us bring in one stud G in free agency, then draft one in round 1. Pick up a backup C to groom in round 3 or 4. In two years our OL is a team strength.
  10. Back in the day, that was the most awesome thing. They'd play it during a timeout, and the whole freaking stadium would just shout it back and start dancing. But they'd only do it once or maybe twice a game.
  11. Nice to get the guys back. Really, all I want is to pound the friggin Pats**** into submission. Is that too much to ask?
  12. Nice job, OP. I have had an unnatural disgust whenever I see Ford in the game, but I’ve also wondered if he’s really as bad as I think. This helps, even if it’s not the same assessment as Joe B. He may also just be improving as the season goes on. Who knows, maybe a big part of it for him has been mental.
  13. Just remember, we used the pick acquired from the trade of Wyatt Teller to the Browns to get Bass. so when you’re feeling blue about losing Teller…just remember the Bass-o-matic.
  14. Understood, there is nothing that could get me to root for the Pats**** in any way. But still—if you're thinking about the division title, at this point the main thing is that we can control that by beating them twice. If you're thinking about the division title and conference seeding, you want Cleveland to lose since we can't beat them to get a tiebreaker later on.
  15. To be honest, we probably should root for the Pats**** in that game, even though I won't and will never. The reason is that we don't play the Browns this year, but we still play the Pats**** twice. So the more Cleveland wins and gets into playoff position, the more we would have to rely on tiebreakers. We want them to lose whenever possible. At least with the Pats*** we can own the tiebreakers with them by beating them twice. It's not a big thing, really, and it still won't convince me to root for the Pats****, but there's that.
  16. I kind of said the same thing in the ESPN Rest of Season Predictions thread: I don't know enough to say whether we are a spread offense now, but I haven't had that sense. I can tell you that I watched quite a few plays over again from the Jax game, and what I saw was that Jax played a lot of man-to-man, and in many cases our WRs were doing absolutely nothing to get open. How this group of receivers were getting no separation against those DBs is both puzzling and concerning. I mean, I remember hoping that teams would play man-to-man against us, knowing that we could shred that.
  17. Miami came out and executed a defensive strategy that frustrated the Bills offense for most of the game. They found themselves midway through the second half, but until then it was a struggle. The following week Urban Meyer basically described to the media what the Dolphins did on defense that worked so well, and essentially broadcasted that the Jags were going to basically do the same thing. It was all right out there. And then they did. How did Daboll respond to that, knowing the same thing was coming again? What do you think the Jets are going to do? The Jets may suck overall, but their defensive line is a lot better than the Jags. I watched some of the Jets-Titans game earlier this year and they were destroying the Titans OL. If there is any sign of how the rest of this season is going to go, it's the Jets game. They either figure this out, or they can't.
