Not sure, but I was pretty concerned about a quick 3 and out in that situation, which would give the Fins time along with 2 timeouts. I was okay with bleeding some time off the clock, apparently trying to make sure only they would have a chance at a winning FG.

Watching that video made me realize, on that 2nd and 14 where Allen had the ball batted down, Cook was wide open on the right side and would have gotten very close to the first down. Not that it ended up mattering with the Poyer penalty, but holy cow. When it was 3rd and 14 (and later 3rd and 9) I was pretty nervous about going 3 and out and giving the Fins another chance.

I suspect this will not be a popular take, but it's a pretty good one. I'm not advocating for getting rid of McD or anyone right now, but if your goal is greatness, or a championship, or whatever is the top of your field, then settling for good only keeps you from getting there. The trick is distinguishing the ones that *can* get you to the top from the ones who *never will*.

My brother in law, a Bears season ticket holder, is hoping they will fire their coach now after yesterday’s game.

…according to DVOA. I don’t know what DVOA is, and I definitely don’t know what it means, but I do know that I will no longer pay any attention to it.

I think he’s waiting until there aren’t any video tape players anymore…

Week 9 - Dolphins at Bills Game Week Thread

Mostly if the Fins decide to bring the safety in and stack the box to keep the run game in check. At which point Brady and Allen would say “thank you” and light the skies on fire. -
TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?

I thought that too, but even if it’s the same leg anything other than the foot would count. The shin definitely touched before the knee went out, so that counts as a foot + another body part. -
Damn. Really nice writeup, @SDS. Another TBD old timer gone. I always enjoyed his Bills optimism.

Brady under fire for calling Josh a "spaz" on Sunday's broadcast...

True, but also you were a kid like eight or nine decades ago. -

Props for owning that one. I mean, to be fair, Achane is outstanding and a pretty big threat if we can't take him out of his game. -
Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
Rubes replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why not? It's not like he was injured, he's just been waiting around to play, working out, staying in shape, and probably studying film. He's got to be itching to get out there and cause havoc. -
What, you want a cookie or something?

I wouldn't get all excited about a move coming. Bills had to decide on Evans today, so it was either activate him or cut him. Easy choice was to cut him and, hopefully, stash him on the PS. There will be an accompanying move, but it will probably be someone moving up from the PS, not a big trade. (Though still keeping my eye out for one)

Tough situation for Evans. He seems like a good player with a lot of promise, but he's got three more of them ahead of him on the roster. I'm guessing IR for the rest of the year... -

Weather forecast for Sunday: Earlier this week was looking like windy and rainy, now just looking like cloudy with no wind, about 55 degrees. Nice overcast, calm fall day. -

I'm not sure I heard what your prediction is for this week. Not a blowout, I'm guessing. I think this is going to be a game just like last year's Bills-Fins game in Buffalo—an even shootout in the first half, with the Bills (hopefully) pulling away in the second half. I think the Bills offense will do well, but I'm concerned about the defense against all of the skill guys they have, especially Achane, who I think missed the first matchup this season? Fins will work to get the running game going, and if they do, it will make things difficult for us. -

For some reason I thought he was a smaller guy, but he looked huge out there...and isn't he supposed to have great speed? -

Yes, he's set to return this week. He has already been back at the facility, apparently. -

You could definitely hear it on TV. Amazing how loud the Bills fans sounded there. -
I might expect a different story next week, at home, with more time to practice.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many times I watched that movie.
