Travis Henry should stay in buffalo
Rubes replied to DreamOnDan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
poop on a stick....I love it! -
True, although technically speaking I said "Thurman, or any other running back" in reference to any running back other than McGahee. But it's a good point since McGahee did happen to flatten the guy.

The Sam Adams quote from Sullivan's "I'm Grumpy 'Cause I Can't Be Negative" column is just classic. I just think this, and everything we're hearing from the players, is really good news for us. Maybe not this season, but certainly for next year and beyond. I think everyone on the team is beginning to realize that Mularkey really does have a clue, they're starting to believe in him as a coach. Hell, I'm believing in him as a coach, but if he's getting the attention and respect of this team, that only means good things in the future. Guys will want to stick around this team. And next year, from the start of the season in Week 1, we'll have a team full of guys that know what they're supposed to do and believe in it. Me likey.

If you read only 1 playoff scenario thread,

That post rocked. Hopefully, it will come in handy later on. -
I can't recall Thurman, or any other running back of ours, ever stiff-arming a defender with such power and success as McGahee did yesterday on his way to the end zone. Too bad he went out of bounds at the one; that was ESPN highlight material if he made it in. He is one big, powerful dude.

Hey, I thought I heard you were banned?!

Can't really argue with you on this, but then again...in the NFL, a mediocre team is a dangerous team. Beating a mediocre team is a good thing, as you say, but manhandling a mediocre team on the road is something more significant. If we had throttled Seattle like this with the game in Buffalo, I'd be happy. Doing it in Seattle is another ball of wax.
-
True, but don't forget that Spikes was covering the guy as well and had his back to the play the whole time. Never knew the ball was coming.
-
Oh, my poor poor brother-in-law. He can't be too happy about this.
-
Nope, that was the saddest.

We'd be lucky at this point to even get a 3rd. I'm thinking he will bring us a 4th at best.

Now that could be the funniest thing I've read all year.

CONGRATS!!! I'm curious as to the wife's illness you were speaking of, but that's probably too much for TSW...

Damn straight, AD. GO UTES!!!

Anything with Colin Farrel in it will suck. Angelina Jolie could have made me go see it, but then I heard her fake accent on the preview. That one had "sucks" written all over it the first time I saw the preview.

Is it really the line that makes the QB? Or...

Sorry man, that was me. -
that OTHER bills/rams prediction thread
Rubes replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know about Bledsoe, but if I see one more punt from the other teams' 34 yard line, I think I'll vomit into an envelope and send it to Mularkey. -
I think one of these threads talking about ICE pops up every couple of months. Great. The guy does a great job getting attention all by himself, and now we go and do it ourselves on top of that.

Congress Raises the Debt Ceiling...
Rubes replied to Alaska Darin's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Dude, why bother. The American people live their entire lives buying themselves into huge debt. Why should the government hold themselves to any higher standard? Because they're Republicans? All campaign, Bush ridiculed Kerry with the line, "Where is he going to get the money to pay for all that?" I guess most folks were too busy guffawing and poking fun at Kerry to realize Bush was actually referring to himself. Not that Kerry would have been any better in that regard, of course. -
Tell that to Flutie

I don't have TiVo, but I thought one of the big selling points is that you could easily skip over commercials. Apparently that was just a ploy to get people to buy TiVos, so they could spring this little gem: TiVo gettin' all comfy-like with advertisers Perhaps the thing most unsettling is that they know what you're watching, every second...

Besides DB, Who's the most disappointing?
Rubes replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Damn these polls, do you really have to pick one? -
I was thinking about this earlier but never posted it... When Drew threw that first INT against the Pats I didn't think too much of it at first. It looked as though he was throwing it under pressure, got a little air under it, and the defender made a great catch. The ball was deep in their end, so yeah, it was like a punt in that respect. An unfortunate turn of events, for sure, but not necessarily another complete Drew brain malfunction. But then ESPN showed a great camera angle that really told the true story. It was the camera they had hanging down over the field, behind Drew. Drew started off looking to his left; Moulds was not his first (or maybe even second) receiver. When Drew saw nothing open to the left, he turned to look right. Of course, now the pass rush is starting to get close. I'm not sure what exactly was going on in his head (insert rude joke here), but my guess is that he decided to throw it to Moulds long before anything he saw with his eyes could register in his head. What he should have seen is Moulds double covered. And not just double covered, but double covered and breaking toward the middle. Drew planted and chucked the ball, and you could tell from the camera shot that he threw it way too far and way off target, over his head and behind him, without leading him toward the middle of the field. Moulds never had a shot at it. That camera shot told me this: that throw was nothing but pure panic. I've had enough.

I am so bitter that I cannot get on at work

Have you ever thought you were in a room full of people you were talking to, but when you looked up everybody had left? -
I think what's really getting most of us here is the fact that MM thought it was okay to put JP into the game on Sunday for the last few minutes, but he then came out to say he's not yet ready to start a game. So tell me, why is it okay for him to play against the world champs, in a complete rout, when the defense has been pummelling the offense into submission? He's not yet recovered completely from his injury, yet it's okay to stick him in there in obvious passing situations, when the defense has their ears pinned back and are rushing the QB like mad dogs? And now he comes out and says he's not ready to start the following week? I'm not sure of his reasons, but it sure sounds like he's intimating that he's not ready from a physical standpoint. Really? If he's not ready physically to start a game, how is it okay to subject him to a potential beating for the last few minutes of a rout? Personally, I think JP has been out for so long, that he's just not ready yet mentally. MM probably wants him to get a couple of complete weeks of full practice in before throwing him to the wolves this year. We all know TD and MM are not as completely stupid as it seems (by keeping Drew in there when he is obviously done), much as we would like to believe that. But I'm betting that they just don't think he's ready to take the starting spot for a full game until he has had another week or two of full practices. It would be nice if MM would just come out and say "You guys are right, Drew is a babbling idiot out there but we'll throw him back in for one more game while JP gets ready to take things over," but he's not going to say that. That's what I'm thinking, at least.
