My wife and I do the same thing. Works great. Particularly since we don't have kids.

Bills Fans, What are your favorite moments
Rubes replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm surprised nobody mentioned the drubbing we gave Miami in 1987. It was at home in November, about a month after we got Cornelius Bennett. I remember the giddiness we were all feeling after that trade, and after Bennett's first game against Denver when he was all over the place. But the real coming of age was the game against Miami in November, when the Bills thrashed the Dolphins 27-0. It was amazing. They built a 21-0 lead by halftime, and cruised the rest of the way. But completely shutting out the hated Dolphins was awesome. You could tell we had a young team that was going to be capable of great things. -
You people are all completely high. The Bills are going to run the table and squeak into the playoffs, and with the defense playing lights out, the offense getting revved up, and the special teams splattering people all over the place, we will proceed to place a complete stranglehold on three tough teams on the road to snatch the AFC title when nobody's looking.

If you're still awake... ESPN2: The Comeback
Rubes replied to Ralonzo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The best part is that I didn't catch the post until it was 20 minutes into the show. I thought it was only a half hour show, so I figured I missed most of it. As I turned it on, the Bills were kicking a FG to make the score 7-3. I knew I was in trouble then. No sleep for me. That was a nice hour and a half show. I was so pumped at the end. Unfortuntately, it was midnight. -
I agree with ICE on this one, Mickey. The end zone view showed it all. Evans was streaking down around the left hashmark, and the safety had deep coverage on him as you note. For that pass to be complete, Drew had to throw it down the right hashmark, preferably underthrown to a degree. Even so, I doubt there was much that could have made that a complete pass, since the deep safety had great position on Evans. IMO not only was it a poor decision to throw it to Evans on that play (since he was covered well), it was a poor throw. Way overthrown and on the wrong side of the field. Nice analysis otherwise!

Will Schultz and Schoenfeld start a brawl?
Rubes replied to Chalkie Gerzowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kinda weird...Rene Robert is listed as a Sabres participant, yet the article highlights only Perreault and Martin. Why not promote the entire French Connection? Some great names on that Sabres list... -
If you're still awake... ESPN2: The Comeback

OMG thank you for telling me this...I've never seen the show...it was so awesome I won't be able to sleep for another hour. Anyone have that version on DVD? -
I actually think that most, if not all, of those points are fairly valid. I don't agree with all of them completely, but I think you make good arguments for most. The one I do take exception to is Schobel. While I agree that Schobel is not worth big contract money, and right now he is not anywhere near a Pro-Bowl caliber DE, he is still relatively young and improving. Plus, we don't have anything better. I think if Kelsay improves more, or we can get a top-notch LDE, Schobel would still be a solid starter on the other side.

I have to say, for some completely unknown reason, I find this thread fascinating.

[OT] Don't forget your free annual credit report!
Rubes replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, the link thing is a security feature, you just have to type it in yourself. It's legit all right, and everyone would be wise to check theirs annually. -
Those of us who live in the western half of the U.S. get first dibs at the free credit reports from http://www.annualcreditreport.com/, starting today. Most of you in the northeast/east coast have to wait until next September. Sorry!

Say what? And I thought medicine had a lot of acronyms.

Damn malpractice! Come on, Bush, do something good for a change.

I dunno, Mark, from this it sounds like you've been hitting the brew a little too much....

Speaking of HD, what exactly do you need to receive and view games in HD when they're broadcast over Fox or another non-subscribing channel?
-
Yes, but Travis actually had the ability to gain yardage. As for your other post, I can't really argue other than to say that I think the previous absence of a working screen pass from our offense probably had more to do with the offensive line and Drew than the running back. It just seemed like, in the past, the call for a screen pass was somehow interpreted by the offensive line as "take a breather on this next play, guys". That, and Drew just always seemed to have a problem tossing the ball under five yards.

Yikes. Better not let the grammer polise catch you....I mean, common man!

...during last week's game against Seattle, let the record show that, for perhaps the first time since the Clinton era, the Buffalo Bills successfully and convincingly executed what apparently was the most mentally challenging play for these gentlemen: the screen pass. Although I guess that depends on your definition of "successfully", since prior to last week that essentially meant "completing the play without an interception, fumble, or sack." Welcome back to the playbook.

If the Bills played the Raiders now
Rubes replied to SF Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't worry, we'll play the Pats again in the AFC title game a little while from now. -
now that made me laugh out loud. I also can't stand when people type "u" for "you". Like you're really saving energy by leaving out two letters? And they're all near each other on the keyboard.

Oh common, its no big thang.

Now you have me confused. I thought not all blocked kicks are considered live balls. In the snowy Denver-Oakland game on Sunday, Denver tried a FG to win the game, but it was blocked. It still travelled forward, however. But I thought as long as nobody from Oakland touched the ball, it was considered dead. Isn't that what happened in the famous Dallas-Miami Thanksgiving game? Didn't Dallas block a Miami FG, but as the ball dribbled toward the Dallas end zone, that infamous brain-dead Leon Lett tried to fall on the ball for some unfathomable reason? And once he touched it, it became a live ball, and Miami recovered near the end zone, to eventually win the game? How does that work with the Detroit-Minnesota game?

I think this is a fine example of the point you are trying to make.
