  1. I thought the first tiebreaker (aside from head-to-head) is AFC record. No matter what happens, if the Bills and Jets end up tied at 10-6, the Jets will have a better AFC record. They have 7 AFC wins right now; the best we can have is 6.
  2. Nice work! Good job.
  3. Yeah, but Vick is mobile!
  4. 29 friggin catches for a guy who's making that kind of coin. What a travesty. That would be the same number as one Lee Evans. A rookie #2 WR.
  5. Didn't Fast Freddie get dragged down at the 5 yard line on one return? That would have been the record breaker, I guess.
  6. Well, perhaps most of the country fails to see the excitement of a game pitting a 2-9 team against a 5-6 team, neither of whom have much hope of seeing the playoffs this year. Now if you ask ME, of course, I think that's a big steaming pile of crap...
  7. I think you left "Drew Bledsoe" off that list
  8. Don't worry. You'll all be over these issues come January. Or is it February this year?
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the Bills and Jets both finish 10-6, wouldn't the Jets get the nod based on a better AFC record? Right now the Jets have 7 AFC wins, the best we can have is 6. My dilemma is that I will be in Chicago for Week 17, and I promised my brother-in-law we would go to the Bears game that day. Imagine how wrong it will be for me to be in Soldier Field watching the Bears while the Bills game is happening. Oh, the horror!
  10. veddy interesting...
  11. 9-7 may not get Cincy in, but Sean Salisbury presented his most likely scenario on ESPN the other night, and he believes the 6th spot actually will go to a 9-7 team. He thinks Denver, Baltimore, and Jacksonville will all be tied at 9-7, with the tiebreaker going to JAX. He thinks Cincy will go 2-2 down the stretch and finish 8-8. If they manage to finish 9-7, however, they might have a shot, but I think they would lose the tiebreaker. That doesn't mean the other teams won't all finish 8-8, though. In any case, 9-7 might very likely get you in, just probably not for Cincy or Buffalo (and others depending on who is tied).
  12. Ah, good to see. I thought you were just trying to drop panic bombs on us and run away.
  13. You could definitely presume that the Jets are in as a wild card, which just makes it a bit simpler to figure out what needs to happen for the Bills to make the playoffs. However, if the Jets go 0-4 down the stretch and the Bills go 4-0, then we finish with a better record than the Jets. Not likely to happen, but anything's possible I guess. If that happens, then it makes things easier for the Bills since we would be fighting for one of two wildcard spots. We could still finish tied with one of the other clubs at 10-6 (Denver, Baltimore, etc.) and still make it in. If the Jets finish 10-6 or better, it makes it more difficult for us since we are battling for only one playoff spot, so we would have to beat out all other teams.
  14. I think the funny thing about Rudy's Panic Posts is that as far as I can tell, he never actually posts anything other than thread starters. Has he ever posted a response within one of the threads he started?
  15. I'd like to see them make the playoffs even just to get playoff experience for the future. With expectations high for next year, it would be nice to get to the playoffs next year without a big group of playoff virgins.
  16. And I ignored it too. What, you think there is something so incredibly secret about plans for another jumbotron? TD doesn't want to tip his hand on that critical issue?
  17. The Jets don't necessarily have a hand in determining if we make the playoffs. However, if the Jets go 0-4 the rest of the way, and we go 4-0, it makes our chances a bit better since we could stand to lose one tiebreaker and still make it in. Also, if the Jets go 1-3 and we go 4-0, and the other teams finish 9-7 or worse, it would be nice because we would then get the 5 seed. We win the tiebreaker with the Jets, right? Not that it would matter that much, though.
  18. I'm sorry did you say something?
  19. Not much. Don't worry.
  20. We're DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED....oh wait, never mind
  21. It's not "flipflopper", the technical term is "bipolar".
  22. Not that I disagree with you or anything, but didn't Miami essentially try this against us? They have a pretty good defense.
  23. Good God, I nearly spit my lunch out when I saw that spread. Hmm. Better make sure the wife never hears me say that.
  24. Whoops, my bad. You're right, I never read your posts! Not after the gecko thread, at least. I knew it would all be disappointing after that.
  25. I'll give him this...he sure as hell made me love to hate the Dolphins even more.
