  1. I still put Leaf way ahead of anyone else. At least Couch showed even some shred of talent. Leaf was just a complete joke from day 1.
  2. Raising arizona
  3. Maybe not in the top 5, but... ...the first TD in the 51-3 game was pure awesomeness. Just had an easy TD called back because of a holding penalty, then on the next snap Kelly fumbles the shotgun snap, picks it up, scrambles out of the pocket, and hits Lofton for another easy score. You just knew right then we were gonna kick the snot out of those pusses.
  4. I think you're right...I went back to the video and he does say this, but it's not entirely clear if there is one or two weeks between the games. There goes that theory.
  5. Just a note, that year there were two weeks between the AFC Championship game and the Super Bowl. Bob Costas noted in the post-game show that one week, instead of two, would have likely benefitted Buffalo. He's probably right. Ah well.
  6. Only a little bit. Mostly the footage goes into the locker room for interviews, but there are some shots right after the game ends and it doesn't look like people are getting onto the field. I was there for that game as well, and I do recall that security was very heavy all around the stadium, and I don't recall anybody going onto the field. As deliriously happy as everyone was, I thought the post-game celebration was a bit muted by the fact we were at war, and I don't think people wanted a huge mess on the field.
  7. Don't forget, you can re-live all the glory by getting your hands on the new 51-3 DVD....
  8. I agree. That is some damn good writing.
  9. Now those sound like some interesting games...I'd be willing to work on one or two if people are interested. Those two Bills-Dolphins games are probably great to see again, especially the 1983 game.
  10. Wait a minute, you don't have XXV on tape or DVD? I've got that one stored away somewhere as well. I've never brought it out because I could never bear to look at it again. But if people would like that one on DVD I'd be happy to set aside my fears for the greater good.
  11. Wow, someone out there did the same as me? I agree...we have it so great now.
  12. There could be something more to this, but I would be willing to accept that TD is doing whatever possible to make enough cap room to re-sign Phat Pat and Jonas at the same time. Although TD is a big bluff artist, I don't doubt his repeated contentions that he is most concerned with keeping his own guys rather than going out and buying them from FA. It'll take some big bucks to keep those two (plus Clements) here, so if there is cap room to be had, he'll find it.
  13. I'll look into doing it in the next couple of days, so I'll let you know how it goes. Do people generally prefer two DVDs or one double-sided DVD?
  14. Now that's what I'm talking about. Now if you'll excuse me, there's a brand new iPod Shuffle here that needs playing with.
  15. C'mon Tom...you can do it....
  16. Do I get a cut of any tips for that one?
  17. If anyone wants me to take the original tape (including pre-game material, Gulf War breakaways, commercials, and post-game festivities) and include everything on 2 DVDs, let me know and I'll do that. Actually, Fez, maybe I should do that anyway in case someone wants a double-sided disk? Anyway, if that's an interesting proposal, let me know. If enough folks respond, I'll try to do it. Shouldn't be too hard.
  18. But only if they're not fat and nice.
  19. Cool! Another stevestojan-DCTom thread. What has it been since the last one, half an hour?
  20. Thanks, Fez, for handling the distribution of that one. I loved that entire game. I had wanted to include the whole tape from start to finish, but I used the entire 4 hours of the VHS tape and there was no way for me to do that without some sort of advanced compression technique, which I don't have access to. Plus, the quality of the video is poor enough to begin with, and that much compression would reduce the quality even further. As you pointed out, there were many interruptions in the game, as the first Gulf War was only 5 days old at the time. I edited those out, although they were pretty interesting to watch. Even with all of those sequences, as well as commercials, edited out, it still needed more editing. I had to edit out the pre-game show (pretty lame stuff, actually) and some of the post-game festivities. But the game is all there, except for the few plays that were missed because of the news breaks. It was taped on NBC in Buffalo. I also noticed a couple of things... Norwood does miss a 45 yard FG, same camera angle, same wide right, same apparent ball trajectory (missed by about a foot around the same height). It is amazing how similar it looks to the Super Bowl miss. Kelly, for all his faults, was actually pretty mobile. Sounds silly, but he was constantly moving around, scrambling a bit, just buying time. He wasn't nimble by any means, but I was surprised to realize how much he did move around. Nobody could cover Lofton or Tasker, as you mentioned. What a trip!
  21. Speaking of the NFL Network, they are saying that the channel is available in HD. Does anyone currently get this channel in HD?
  22. I can't read his articles....English is the only language I know.
  23. Do the announcers realize that they don't have a 2nd rounder this year?
  24. Yes, but was it broadcast in HD??? On a serious note, the reaction to the antibiotic is something really amazing. We've seen it in our hospital once or twice. Very dramatic. It's one of those rare pearls we are always taught to keep in mind.
