  1. Not that this thread needs anything more from me, but... Somewhere out there the Patsy fans are laughing their asses off at us. It was the same exact story there. Just need to improve the surrounding cast and Drew will take you to the promised land. Then, one day, Drew was removed and the surrounding cast did just fine, thank you very much. Three Super Bowl victories later, they are laughing so hard at us they're crying, seeing the same thing unfolding before us.
  2. I'd be willing to give Drew that time only if I can have it back at the end when we still haven't made the playoffs...
  3. It's Lackawanna, NY...a news story on NPR confirmed it.
  4. Oh dude, I used to LOVE those. I agree...I've lived lots of places and there is just nowhere like WNY for great food. It'll kill you twenty years early, but great food nonetheless.
  5. Absolutely. Best fish fry in the world.
  6. Of course the original subject of this thread was "gay marriage", which, if I'm not mistaken, is an issue of love and union rather than reproduction. Where's the genetic suicide in this?
  7. I really think I need to see this flick again. I saw it years ago and just couldn't get into it.
  8. Pretty close. We can release Drew, but my guess is the Bills would rather not do this because of the $4.3M cap hit. We could release him after June 1st to spread the hit, but then we'd still have to pay him the $1M bonus on March 2nd. Neither of those are particularly attractive options for the Bills. They aren't particularly attractive for Drew, either, because the chances are slim to none that another team will provide him with a starting job OR anything near the salary he's currently making. I don't think your option #2 even exists. Drew could stay on, but I think the Bills have made it clear he won't be the starter without competing for the job and earning it. Drew may not like that, but that's too bad. The Bills also don't want him to stay on at his current contract, so they would really like him to restructure. Will he? Who knows. It depends on how much restructuring the Bills are going to ask. Realistically, it comes down to this one thing: Will Drew accept the offer to restructure and stay on? IMO, the Bills would like to keep Drew, but only if he restructures and accepts an open competition for the starting job. Further, I think it's probably in Drew's best interest to accept the offer and compete, since he's likely to do worse if he gets out on the open market. It's also in the Bills best interest that he accepts the offer, since I'm sure they would prefer this to the cap hit they would take from releasing him. So my expectation is that Drew will accept the terms, restructure the contract, and stay on with an open competition for QB. My guess is that his contract will allow him to leave after this next season if JP becomes the starter.
  9. LOL! The thought of the guy sneaking around at 8:30 instead of later made me crack up. Maybe you should just pick a few and leave them in a container near the front with a sign that says "Free". I think I'd prefer that to a guy sneaking around my yard.
  10. I just find it amusing that, years later, we're again debating a QB controversy involving a #7 and a #11.
  11. Thank God for the NFL Network.
  12. I love having a garden. Fresh veggies rock. We usually plant tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, cucumber, green pepper, tomatillos, and jalapenos. We try to do something new each year, like corn, watermelon, whatever. We also have dwarf peach and nectarine trees.
  13. That is an excellent article. I don't know the writer, but if he's not from Buffalo he deserves a lot of credit for doing his homework on this issue. He really hits the nail on the head with regard to the main point: neither the Bills nor Bledsoe really needs each other, but they're both probably better off together.
  14. You know, a lot of ladies here would probably say he's exceptionally fast!
  15. This somehow must be the liberals' fault.
  16. Can we then pray that God will later show the religious conservatives the errors or their way, too?
  17. I don't know, this is truly turning into a puzzling story. Thousands and thousands of football viewers are completely dumbfounded by the lackadaisical approach the Eagles took on that drive. Time was wasted in huge chunks. Incredibly poor decisions were made. With the Super Bowl Championship on the line, the Eagles played the final few minutes like they had no interest in really winning the game. This was then compounded by the questionable onsides kick, and the questionable punt coverage afterward. Then, we start to hear reasons. Not just from anyone, but from players in the huddle. Offensive linemen, wide receivers. Making actual claims about sickness, heaving, calling plays for the QB. Still, no explanation as to why this all continued without any intervention. Why the QB wasn't benched for someone who could actually call plays. Why the no-huddle wasn't used when it clearly was called for. All I seem to hear is: a) McNabb still threw a TD pass on that drive, with 1:48 to play. b) Not using the no-huddle really isn't the reason they lost that game. c) They were up against the defending champs, isn't that asking too much? Now we are hearing from McNabb that he really wasn't sick. No heaving. No play calling from other people in the huddle. WTF? Maybe this is McNabb trying to save a little face, to avoid taking too much of the blame because he was sick at the time his team needed him the most. Maybe so, maybe not. Regardless, it still leaves too many puzzling questions unanswered, and nobody in the organization seems to have any interest in clearing things up. It's more than just McNabb and his mysterious illness, other people are saying strange things and it just doesn't add up. I am mystified.
  18. Do they have a "negotiation" mode where you sit at a table and yell at player representatives?
  19. Hey, maybe he'd make a good third WR instead of Reed?
  20. That's how many people DIED from influenza in 1918, or thereabouts. It was a global disaster.
  21. No problem...you're essentially correct regardless, it's just that you can't really compare the 400 bazillion with the 700 bazillion since they represent different time periods. Still, the point that you make is correct in that it will end up costing a heck of a lot more than it was originally 'sold' to.
  22. Yes, but doesn't that pretty much cover everything except his stance on taxes?
  23. I can appreciate that honesty.
  24. No way they put the Bills and Pats on a MNF game, the only possibility is if it's in Buffalo, but even then...there's nothing to suggest we can put up a good fight against them yet, and ABC isn't going to want another game like last year's Sunday nighter. I do think the Bills and Jets makes a good matchup, though. We split the series last year, and almost pulled it out on the road. If we have a MNF game next year, my guess is this one.
